Read before you go! This is not where the wildflowers are, that is at Memaloose Hills in Mosier OR. Some of the photos on the reviews here are NOT from this place. We mixed things up and wow we had a day. The road into this place is awful. This hike was honestly terrible. With the fires that happened there are so many trees down often on top of the trail and navigating around all of the fallen trees was not fun. We were rewarded at the top with a beautiful lake with salamander friends but that’s about it. No real views, not much wildlife, burnt trees, lots of sticks and logs to navigate, and no wildflowers. We met another couple on the trail who were thinking the same as us, so I felt like I needed to review it for others to read!

No parking fee. Beautiful trail up to the lake. Some trash at the lake, bring a trash bag and help pack some out. Thanks!

Memaloose Trail is mostly uphill from the small parking area to the lake, you will need to climb over a few logs and cross several small streams along the way. The lake itself is very small and doesn't have much accessible shore due to marsh and thick mud. You will likely see salamanders and small fish in the lake as the water is very clear. Memaloose lake is shallow (resembles a large pond) and the water is fairly warm in the summer considering the elevation. No trash services, be sure to pack out what...

Memaloose trail is an amazing hike up through an old growth canyon to the shallow but beautiful Memaloose Lake. You hike next to a small stream that has several small cascade waterfalls and it offers a cool place to walk in the summer. Great for a small day...
