Visited for the first time in early April, what a fantastic spot! Beautiful boardwalk and natural rock formations. This was a nice challenge for my first hike of the season, though I couldn't finish the ridge loop. Part of this trail is closed March 1st to June 15th so the bobcats and ravens who call the natural area home can raise their young. Saw turtles, pileated woodpeckers, chipmunks, squirrels, and a whole host of other native critters! Ramps and hickory nuts can be found if you know where to look ๐Ÿ˜‰ Will absolutely be returning as the weather...

I'm not an avid hiker but decided I wanted to hike this trail, only 20 minutes from my home. This was my first serious hike since my triple heart bypass in June, 2023. Very peaceful, shaded and for the most part a fairly easy hike with a few spots that were moderately difficult. Westerly views from the ledges are quite nice. I took my time and did the hike in three hours but can be done in two. I wore sneakers, no crampons and used...

I was a bit worried as TNC advised it is being over-visited. Not in my case. I was the only one there for a 2 hour visit. Trails seemed overgrown in several areas and no litter to be seen anywhere. Easy to stay on trail and little opportunity to get lost on the loop. Incredible ecological diversity. Peaceful, quiet and stunning. The mosquitos were BAD on the 88ยฐ plus 90% humidity Friday but I knew the risks. Lovely spot...

Beautiful way to spend the day! Great walk especially when you stop to observe the little details like the abandoned beaver dam/pond area or the unexpected vernal pool area for the fairy shrimp that you could easily miss if you didn't notice the signs of the pool, even in fall! Can't wait to go back!
