Mon View Park — Attraction in Monongahela Township

2024 was my family's 52nd time using Mon View Park for our reunion. We love it there. We love the improvements. This year was a little different, however. We are used to some yellow jackets showing up eventually to hang out at the garbage cans after we have throw away discarded food, drinks, used plates, etc. But, this year, there were tons of them already there. It was extremely difficult to set up, relax and socialize, and clean up because the yellow jackets were swarming us. One of the family members was stung on her side. Thankfully, she isn't allergic. I'm not sure if the yellow jackets are nesting in the pavilions or what, but this was miserable. Our oldest attendee is 98 and our youngest was only a few months old. I can't imagine if either one of them would be stung. Please, Mon View Park, help your attendees with the yellow jacket situation and keep our pleasant, positive experience...

The pool is expensive if you aren't planning on being there for a long time. The area is decent and clean. There is a playground with swings and a play place (it is currently only partially usable for an unknown time by me). Recommended usage: rent a pavilion for an event or barbecue. Start it early. Pay for pool access when you get there and access it at your leisure while you enjoy your barbecue or event. The pool has male and female changing areas and restrooms. Our family had a reunion at the park. The facilities are nice. The pool was clean and well staffed with lifeguards. There is a baseball field that the kids were playing on and also a sand volleyball net set up. There were a few other parties going on in the park at the same time.
