Today, we stopped at the Heritage Museum in Libby, Montana. This was an amazing museum. It offers a fantastic glimpse into the local history, with exhibits ranging from Native American artifacts to displays on the logging and mining industries that shaped the region. One of the most unique items on display is a massive frying pan, reputed to be one of the largest in the world! It's a fun and quirky piece of history that adds a bit of local flavor to the museum experience. The museum is well-organized, with clear signage and informative descriptions for each exhibit. They have a lot of different things on the history of libby, spanning back to the indigenous peoples of the area. They have a section about logging and mining and the asbestos disaster, with little computer stations where you can watch videos of locals talking about the impact asbestos has had on the community.
They also have a variety of taxidermied wildlife and some stuff outdoors (older cars and buildings and agriculture equipment).
