Calla Lily Valley is an absolute hidden gem and a must-visit for nature lovers! Nestled along the California coast, this stunning valley bursts into bloom each spring, creating a breathtaking landscape of pure white calla lilies set against the backdrop of rolling green hills and the deep blue ocean.
The hike to the valley is short and scenic, following a peaceful trail along a small creek that winds through the flowers. The moment you arrive, you're surrounded by thousands of delicate lilies, swaying gently in the breeze—it's like stepping into a fairytale. The sound of the nearby waves crashing against the shore adds to the tranquil atmosphere, making it an incredible spot to relax and take in the beauty of nature.
For the best experience, visit in March or early April when the flowers are in full bloom. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes since the trail can get muddy, and bring a camera—you'll want to capture every moment of this breathtaking scene! Whether you're a photographer, a hiker, or just someone who loves exploring beautiful places, Calla Lily Valley is an unforgettable experience. Highly...
Read moreCome here between February and April and you'll find this stunning valley of calla lilies! I'm a Big Sur wedding and elopement photographer and I always recommend that couples come here if they happen to be visiting during those months. There's not a ton of parking at the trail entrance (only on one side of the highway) so if there's no space, you can always park at the next turnout which has plenty of parking. From there, you can follow the coastal trail to Calla Lily Valley. If you're planning on getting to the beach, just note that sometimes you have to climb over rocks or step over the river to get to the beach, particularly if it has rained a lot lately. It can also get really muddy here, and there is some poison oak on the coastal trail. But definitely worth the trek if you come during blooming season! During the spring, there are also wildflowers that bloom all...
Read moreBeautiful outlet going to the ocean that blooms with calla lilies every Spring. Everything about the location - hills, the ocean, flowering meadows and, of course, the calla lilies - is picturesque. People get married down by the beach often, I’m told. What you don’t want is to be stuck in traffic both ways in and out of the Carmel Highlands, and on the freeway in and out of Monterey. Earlier would mean you could drive more slowly, find parking more easily (it can be really difficult later in the day and pulling in/out right on the road can be stressful), and have some space to enjoy the scenery before people and their families come - it was packed around 4pm on a...
