Updated review below: Original review (7/25/2021) Very nice campground. We all enjoyed the splash pad. Very clean. Darin is an awesome manager. Very friendly. Kept the property very well maintained. Very kid friendly. See updated review below:

Edited 2/26/2024 - dropping rating from 5 stars to 3 stars - We stayed here again after quite some time due to weather damage to the park. Darin is no longer working here. The park itself is still in good condition and repairs are still ongoing. Do not expect to get in contact with anyone via phone easily. There is no camp host on site. Know your campsite before coming because there was no one readily available to take payment or tell us what site was ours. Most campgrounds we have been to at least had a name on the site, but not this one. And the park had no enforcement about keeping animals contained. I have never seen so many dogs run loose around a campground before. Not only is the neighbor's (from the home across from the campground) huge great dane free to roam, but other campers allowed their dogs to roam freely. This caused some discomfort. Not enough to ruin the weekend, but enough that the weekend wasn't as relaxing as it should have been. We spent the weekend shooing away dogs from our site. Just be prepared if you have protective dogs or children,...

My husband and I rented one of the cabins and we had family in the campground for a week. The cabin is really cute and we were bu ourselves over in the cabins. I enjoyed that because it made it feel very secluded. The cabin has a small area that is a sitting area and a small kitchen area. It has a few plates, bowls, cups and glasses, but if you plan on cooking you may want to bring a few pots. We had a frying pan and the coffee pot. We managed because we had family in the campground. The splash pad was not working but they played in a water hose and had just as much fun. The campground was really nice. We all gathered in the pavilion for dinner every night and all 20 of us could enjoy our dinners together. We rode in the boat and tried to catch some fish but there were none to be had. All in all a nice time...

It is a nice place to get away from home. It has a park for the children to play on swings and slides. It has games for grown ups and children. It has a man made beach. The lake is large where you can fish on. It has boats that you can ride on. It has several buildings on it. It has a large social hall on it which is very clean. It has a kitchen and men and women bathrooms. It has stairs and a wheel chair ramp to it. It has ramps where you can walk out on and enjoy the water and even fish up on. It's a pretty place to be able to enjoy the outside. It's a park that makes you feel like that you have been to a beach. Go check it out it's a great place to get away and to relax and to enjoy sometime away from home and with family...

Spent a few days during the first week of October at site No. 8, which is waterfront site with a spectacular view of the sunset. Well-maintained grounds. Clean. Day temps, mid 90s; evening temps, high 60s. The annoying dusk and dawn gnats dissipated between 7 and 8 p.m. There is an enclosed pavilion at the campground with ceiling fans, which is where we retreated till the gnats left. We kayaked the Flint River and paddled up Whitewater Creek. On the Flint we saw ducks, killdeer, great blue herons, deer, and adult boars and piglets. No alligators though. Lots of clean sandbars. The current was good, but there were many downed trees in the water to navigate, some a bit challenging.

This a very nice park. The campground is nice, with well-spaced sites. Some are very spacious. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. Several sites are full hook-up. The bathrooms/bathhouse are fairly nice. They were kept very clean. The park has two playgrounds, a splash-pad, some short hiking/walking trails, and a sandy beach area. There are also pavilions available to rent, two piers, and a boat ramp.

Snall less than Five Hundred Acre Park along Lake a few cabins, small Beach campground on Lake shore.Interesting Spillway to the dam on the lake unfortunately Park office closed for lunch and two of the three trails closed because of high water, worth another look at another time not located on Georgia parks and historic sites map for some reason but it is a state park or at least the name says it is
