This is not good for hiking, but a good biking trail. Someone had crushed a medium sized snake, perhaps when they were biking down the path. Sad to see this. The utility company has cleared a path and so there are no trees along this path. It gets very hot during the day if you are walking up or down this trail. There’s a bench at the top. Must be hard to hike down this slope if there is ice or snow on it. I would suggest that hikers avoid this slope completely and stay within the wooded parts of the preserve. That part is quite unique...

On a clear day, look in the distance (just above the dome). You should be able to see the World Trade Center and other buildings of the Manhattan skyline! That is a distance of roughly 40 miles, as the crow flies. This viewing point is a neat treat before descending the mountain.

If you have a drone, this location would also be a good place...

Great park with well marked trails. Take a picture of the trail map to make your life easier.

The trails are marked by painting the color of the trail on easy to see places on trees along the way.

On clear days, you can see the new york skyline from the viewing location. But even without the view, the area is...
