There are few options to get access to these trails but honestly this parking lot is almost always empty when I visit. The trails are maintained very well and are tracked so diligently and designed so carefully it's hard to get lost unless you really try. It's wonderful to go running, hiking, rucking and mountain biking here. Some parts seem more ideal to bike than running but still it feels pretty empty. The elevation isn't steep heavy and the path itself isn't a trolley of rocks (so no breaking ankles). Id say if it's a beginner friendly trail to people wanting to get into hiking and an intermediate trail for mountain bikers. Free parking. Probably fits about four cars.

Always enjoyed this place for a good hour hike. It's about 3.1 miles (round trip). Its a good little way to kill some calories, work on your cardio and get some fresh air (without taking up your whole day). Excellent place in the fall, winter or early spring. If you go during (tick season)stick to the inside of the trail path. Don't walk against the brush and wear some off(Best way to avoid ticks / bugs). Overall wonderful place to enjoy.

I love walking the Magruder trail. It's simply magical. Nicely paved with boardwalks peppered throughout it great for a leisurely stroll, a jog, or a walk with a stroller or kiddos on bikes. FYI, there are no trash cans along the trail only at the parks so be prepared to carry out what you take in.

Follow the trail markers and you won't stumble into the tall grass like I did, haha (tho it's not that bad). At the entrance, if you take a right, you follow the river, but end up in the tall grass. The path to the left meets up with the path to the right, but it's clearer. Then just forge on ahead till you hit the road at the other end. Overall, great little walk. Basically had the path all to myself at 3pm on a Tuesday. The sun was blaring that day, but it's so well shaded that the walk was entirely pleasant. I recommend this place for leisure walk with the dog.

My only issue was trying to leave the "parking" on the side of the road during rush hour. Had to wait quite a bit to merge myself into traffic at the 3 way stop sign. Just be warned you might be waiting a while to leave during weekday rush hour, but again, not the worst thing...
