We had loads of fun!
Cons: feed for the safari animals, giraffe, and birds not included in price of admission. Makes it expensive in the end. Small buckets of feed $4 each. Giraffe feed $5 for 3 pieces of romaine lettuce + small souviner plastic cup. Not sure for price of bird feed sticks.
Also AVOID letting younger kids feed the camels. We were warned they steal the buckets. But upon entering the park the camels swarmed our van, they literally knocked all the food into our car and take the $4 bucket of food out of our hands before we could even blink, despite being prepared.
SAVE SOME FEED for the goats and pigs at the petting area at the end. THEY DONT TELL YOU THIS. Maybe they want you to buy more?
One zebra bit my arm hard when he realized I didnt have any more food. He kept biting at me, then tried to eat my clothes. We had to drive off. He didnt break the skin but I have a nice hematoma.
Pros: The camels are HYSTERICAL and loads of fun when they arent stealing your food! They totally invade your personal space!!
Lots of animals to see!!
The lamas LOVE to eat and will lean into your car but aren't greedy and they don't steal the buckets. Bulls, zebras, ostriches, goats, & pigs also ate out of the buckets!
We saw several other species, but they didn't approach the car.
You can circle the park as many times as you like, with or without food.
At the end of the circle is a petting area with lots of goats with babies, and lots of pigs!! Next is an area to feed the giraffes. See 2 beautiful Macaws. Lastly a bird enclosure where you can feed them with popsicle sticks dipped in seeds. That was SO much fun.
Overall: Due to cost, we probably wont visit often. But if they include feed in that same admission cost, we'll go...
Read moreAverage civilians dream upon the wonders of experiencing the bliss contentment of a loving animal giving solitary but pleasant visits to gracious, unknowing, and curious humanoids.
If the desires listed above align with readers true wants, this establishment offers exactly that, with slim to nonexistent amounts of misinformation and illogical piracy. Furthermore, and as viewable to curious readers, I, Maureen Johnson, world-tier reviewer, have decided upon hours of research, to compose a holy 5-star review for such blissful adventures.
Section 1: Entry To start off, immediately you will be filled with complete hope of what discoveries you may find at Alabama Safari Park. You will enter and most likely be bombarded with little fellas welcoming you in. You may hesitantly feed the mindless jolly blackbucks, still wondering what adventures lie in store.
Section 2: Enlightenment This section is once you have been introduced to the creatures, you are not afraid of them anymore, you are one of them. You somewhat begin to understand the concepts of various species walnut-sized brains.
Section 3: Fulfillment At this stage, you have already met every animal, you are wondering when it will be over, when the blissful divine landscape will come to an end. At some point you will reach it, and be happier than beforehand. You may even wish for more, and go to the area containing a trail for visitors to walk on. This is quite lovely too, and gets you up close to the various beasts.
Stage 4: Exit You leave, your car a mess, but your expectations met. You have limitless pictures and flesh tearing smiles from overly grinning, and pulling your face muscles apart, leaving u with permanent smiles to...
Read moreThis post should have been posted in 2020 but I just now getting around to it when someone mentioned to me they went to a similar petting zoo somewhere else so I Revisited these photos and realized I never reviewed it but as I'm reading the reviews they have must have made many many changes since our visit in October of 2020. Our visit was nothing like what the reviews are now so don't use my review as something to go off of as of now being 2023. I'm simply sharing a video of what we went through dealing with a particular breed of animal which was the longhorn steer I guess I'm not really sure what they're called for sure but anyways ultimately still our trip was fun but our visit did not include friendly staff and did not include clean bathrooms did not have anything open to the public besides just riding through the park you could not feed sloths there was no larakeets you could not even go into a souvenir shop they had nothing to eat and the buckets of food we're gone that we paid for within a few minutes you couldn't get out of your vehicle and pet anything. So I'll say all that and then I'll say this things must have changed quite a bit. So kudos to the park for your upgrades and we just must have picked a bad time to go I am interested to try to go again sometime in the future now that it seems that they have made the necessary changes to make it more enjoyable although I will definitely still be steering clear of those very long horn aggressive Bulls. This review should not be taken as something current as I said this is nearly 3 years old...
