Simple yet just enough for your daily needs. Has options to camp, and a paved/gravel road throughout that is about 1 mile long with side trails for hiking. Other inclusions: lake with benches, fishing options & horse trails (however I personally don't condone animal abuse or exploitation), playground, 2 locations for bathrooms, trash cans, parking, picnic tables, open areas for yard sports/games, and spots to cook over a fire. Road is closed to vehicles through winter until April 1st, however foot activities and biking is still allowed. Wildlife can include birds, squirrels, deer, etc. Please be kind to them this is their home! Also keep in mind my photos represent the wet & muddy season.

Nice little Forest Preserve Park. Good for walks. If you just follow the road to loop the park it is about a mile. They have hiking and horseback trails some of which follow the Sangamon River. The park has a playground for kids, campsites and picnic tables, no covered pavilion. There is also a canoe access to the river. There is a small lake/ large pond for fishing. It’s a beautiful little park to enjoy the outdoors.

Awesome trails! Had some cool finds while walking the river bed. Couple arrowheads and lots of interesting rocks.

Here is a place just to get away and commune with nature. Or, just have a pick-nick or maybe go fishing in the local pond. Periodically one may ride horses through the horse trails, or just walk them. Easier yet, just cruise through the wooded areas in your car. Plenty of tables, restrooms, and trails to use. Easy to spend the whole day here. Lodge Park is part of the Piatt County of Illinois Forrest...

Came down here with some friends for the 4th of July celebration for the first time and it was busy. Food vendors, kids activities, and fireworks were the main attractions for the night. The only complaint is the parking. Get here early or you will be walking up to 1 to 2 miles to get here. Other than that and the mosquitoes, since it is in a wooded area by a creek, it was a good time. They put on a good...
