What a fantastic Park! This park here in Medina, has hiking and walking paths with a dedicated mountain bike area. The paths are concrete. There are also a few calisthenic stations around the park . There are a lot of different path options to take. Along each path, there are plenty of benches and gazebos scattered along the entire trail. There are plenty of hills along the way to give you a great mid-ranged cardio workout. These benches are a welcome site for a quick break. Some of the hills however might not be suitable for the elderly. There are bridges along the way that are numbered. I do not know if I hit them all but I did hit number 12. Halfway through the park there is a area called Aaron Smith Field Station There are restrooms and water fountains available along with a gazebo to relax. All throughout the area you'll see beautiful views along the way. I love the fall for all the vibrant colors colors. These paths also extend to the Thomas Courier Nature Park, Aaron Smith Nature Center and The Blue Heron Brewery and Event Center. After a great day hiking stop at Spokes Cafe. Located right at the parking lot stop in, recharge and pick up a smoothie or a cup of coffee. The only negatives that I found were that you are very close to the interstate and it's not quiet. Also, because you are close to private residential areas. Some of the locations are not accessible. They also need to mark the private property...
Read moreEvery time I go here there's something new being built up so I like seeing my tax dollars used for stuff like this. And it looks like they're on their way for either a skatepark or maybe it's just going to be a permanent bike park kind of thing but that's pretty awesome now. And then of course all the scenery on the trails makes it the best park to visit in Medina.
Edit 2025: the park is still a great walk/hike with the dogs but the grounds need some more regular maintenance. Grass is overgrown all along the walking paths. Tree branches overhang a lot of spots on the trails. Bugs like crazy, which I suspect is a result of the lack of maintenance. The bike park spot looks like it hasn't been used at all. Grass and weeds are overtaking the area. The exercise equipment needs repair as some of them have broken off completely from the spots they were built in.
But there is fresh concrete where some of the original asphalt was falling apart. The garbage cans look to be regularly emptied. It's not like the park is in a state of disrepair or neglect. But some of the freshness from the first couple of years after it opened has gone by the wayside.
Taxes continue to skyrocket in the county so hopefully some of those tax dollars can get back to work at this...
Read moreThis place is great. The walking trails are concrete and clean. The big loop is about 2 miles long and has a bunch of small to mid sized hills to keep things interesting. If 2 miles is too much for you, you can do the small loop which, I believe, is just shy of a mile. They are adding on to the trails so eventually there will be even longer trails/loops.
The fitness stations are awesome. You can get a full body workout at this place without a gym membership.
I walk here with my dog every day and she loves it. The park requires you to keep your dog on a leash and everyone respects that rule. There is also a creek that my dog loves to swim in after our walk to cool down.
This park also has mountain bike trails. I haven't been on those yet but I've heard they are great.
Lastly, there is a cafe opening up at the entrance of the park so you will be able to grab a coffee after your walk.
The only negative is that there is only 1 garbage can and it's at the entrance for the trails. So when my dog poops in the middle of the trail, I have to walk a mile or more holding her poop in a bag. I wish they would add a few more cans...
