We have been racing here in the Karting Challenge since 2015. The staff as a whole are fantastic! I have yet to meet that "one worker" that is a slacker and just there for a paycheck. Friendly, patient, helpful. As I mentioned, as a whole fantastic. Some are "green" to the way things work there but always improving. Then you have the the managerial staff. Tough to put into words how good these people are. Approachable, patient, stern when necessary and just plain great at there jobs. At GoPro Motorplex, You can race against karting world champions, weekend warriors and occasionally auto racing champions. Competition events are a way better, more relaxed, family atmosphere than ANY of the ball sport arenas I have been to. (This relates to karting in general) Competitors can be fierce on the track and great friends off. Other competitors are more often than not, glad to help with advice or wrenching when time is a factor for repairs between races. The many people I have observed, and the few I know personally that have used the rental karts ALWAYS have a great time. The track is challenging and fun. The Age limit is 16 to rent. The karts are no "kiddie ride". Go check it out! If you want to try it but are apprehensive about driving against strangers, get a group of friends together for an awesome time. No place is perfect, so here is what I feel must be addressed at this facility. The following comments are more for the track owners than visitors. They are also "matter of fact" comments and NO malice should be read into them. Picture this. You paid all the same entry fees as the racers with deeper pockets BUT, when you arrive at the track 6:50am race day, all the paved spaces are rented out. The last row of 25 or so "free" spots, are taken by 4 racers with massive motorhomes and trailers the few on the entry gate side are taken by parked vehicles and 2 or 3 racers. So you are directed to the dirt/ mud hole area with huge rain water washout gulleys. Pit in the uneven dirt and good luck keeping your kart on the stand pushing it over that terrain. You are also behind a building. Completely out of earshot of even hearing IF an announcement is being made. (Forget hearing the words unless you are renting a garage or a first row pit spot) Here are VERY realistic improvements that would make this track way more grass root racer friendly. Get a Public Address System that can be heard and understood at ALL the pit spaces!! The light poles are there in the parking lot. Mount some speakers to them and the Kartsport building!! The radio frequency you supposedly transmit on works sporadically. The P.A. system is literally just for those wealthy enough to rent garages and first row spaces. Every announcement echoes the message that "if you can't hear us, too bad! You are not wealthy, nor important enough for us to bother with". Having to tote a radio around with loads of batteries to, maybe, hear if our group is being called to grid, is obnoxious. Pave the mude hole pit area. At the very least, lay down some fine gravel. This one will be costly and may not be allowed by some zoning rule that forces a business in this area to maintain a certain square foot percentage of non paved area. All the same, the "mud hole" parking that some of us are forced to pit in because the paved area is rented out to those that can afford it, is completely unacceptable. Some competitors come from hundreds of miles and that is what greets them, being forced to set up their pit in a mud hole. Not worth the trip is what I hear on the grid. I must reiterate here that the staff makes these less desirable aspects of the facility much more tolerable and our thanks go out...

I cannot get ahold of anyone in regard to my reservation in 2 days on 4/23. I have had a simple question called 12 times and have left 5 voice mails but cannot get anyone to answer the phone, or return phone call, nor an emailed response. I finally got someone on the phone and after about 15 seconds they hung up. I just needed to know if the automated time that they website selected is set in stone or adjustable? As I cannot get though after 2 days nor any contact, I need to cancel my reservation. Please have someone contact to answer my questions or to cancel my reservation under B02BA6!

UPDATE: Interesting, after leaving a google review I finally got a call back! I was on my best behavior on the phone just so thankful that i finally got a call back for my simple question. Are the automatic times that the website booked fixable? Short answer was yes, I mentioned how difficult it has been to get though and was just glad to have an answer. I voiced my concern about the lack of response, and SHE offered up...well we can cancel!!. This was not my desire nor intention, I just needed my question answered and to inform the company that customers cannot get though the phone. My other question was what if the Trackhouse employees are not ready at the check in time (as check in is before the opening time)? Do we loose the time slot? Etc., So reluctantly I agreed to cancel it then. The phone call lasted and entire 1 min and 45 seconds. Now I have lost my fees and have no plans. This is sad….she didn’t apologize for the lack of response or anything, not even an how can we make it better? Instead right to well we can cancel it.

This is rather shameful and businesses should strive to do better not to be difficult for no reason.

Full Story: My brother, father, and their company invited me up to their corporate event at this facility several months backs. Despite it not being managed well it did not matter to us, we had an excellent time! As a driver myself I Loved the course and the time on the track, as did all of the others. The food was super basic and lack luster but who cares!!! This is a track and def is a 5 out of 5 review for the fun we had and the track itself.

With my wife now changing jobs and having time off I thought this would be the best place to go and have a fun day out at. She was 100% on board and we booked it but when the booking was completed we had questions on the times. After calling over a dozen times, leaving 5 voice mails, sending 2 emails, and writing a google review as a last resort I finally get someone on the phone….who has the attitude of a pissy teenager. Rather than apologize or work to fix the problem and support us having a great time... it was immediate to you can cancel!! I am rather saddened by this because even now we would have wanted to go up but at what cost…the extra fees are gone. All because they could not or would not answer a simple question.

I guess moral of the story is there are a LOT of other go-karting places in the area so maybe look elsewhere. Despite the being the place I want to go I guess it is time for me to find...

I went for the first time with my girlfriend earlier this week, and I will never go again. After we registered, we were told to go the training room, which was already full of other racers. We expected at least a brief "training" by the staff on how to operate the carts, any safety precautions, how to put on the safety gears, how to read the flags, etc (none of which were given). Suddenly, a crowd of racers left to get ready on the carts, and my girlfriend and I were told to join on the race 5 minutes later. Being a first-timer, we were not sure how to put on the gears correctly and we had to ask one of the staff members to help us. They told us to sit on the carts with the numbers that were next to our names on the screen. I distinctly remember us being 16 and 17 when we first went into the training room, but when we went out to the track, someone else was already sitting on kart 16. As we wondered around in confusion and in rain, one of the staff members came out and told us that our numbers were different. I felt that adequate safety training or instructions weren't given before we were put on or "rushed" to the track. Being short and petite, my girlfriend was given a seat booster by one of the staff members. Having felt rushed, she could not properly locate the seat-belt and cut her hand deep during the process. After she struggled for a while, a staff member finally came and helped her adjust her seat. Also, no instructions were given on whether it's recommended to bring our personal items such as a cellphone with us on the track. She had placed her cellphone in her backpocket. After the race had completed, the cellphone was irreversibly damaged with water, as it started pouring on the track, and there were certain locations on the tracks where rainwater had gathered by a significant amount. I wasn't expecting to be babysat by the staff, but if we were at least briefed on safety and gear/kart instructions for a couple minutes, we would not have felt so rushed and unsafe. I was disappointed at the unfriendly staff members and the lack of safety training/instructions. I went because of the positive Google reviews which claimed that the staff were friendly and put safety as priority. My experience proved otherwise, and it was very disappointing. From the reviews, we believed the place would be accommodating to people of all experiences and levels. We were treated as if we had already been to this place several times, when in fact we were there for our first time. I think that our experience would have been much better if we had a few minutes of actual training and some safety...
