One of My Favorite Spots!
Lake Perris is hands down one of my favorite places to escape to for a relaxing and fun day outdoors. The entrance fee is $20 per car on weekends and only $10 on weekdays, definitely worth it for the experience!
The scenery is absolutely stunning, surrounded by desert rocky hills that contrast beautifully with the warm, crystal-clear blue water. The shoreline is a bit rocky, but nothing that requires water shoes. In the summer, lifeguards are present, which adds peace of mind, especially for families.
Parking is surprisingly easy, even on busy weekends. Just keep in mind, there’s no store inside the park, so pack all your food and snacks ahead of time. Luckily, the nearby city is close enough if you need to grab something after your visit.
If you’re bringing kids, I strongly recommend bringing life jackets for swimming. The lifeguards are strict, and anyone paddle boarding or kayaking must wear one too. Safety first!
The park has shaded areas with picnic tables and grills, which makes it perfect for a BBQ with family or friends. Just know that weekends can get loud near the beach with music from other visitors. Restrooms are available and camping is also an option if you want to stay overnight.
There’s also a bike path around the lake, and the ride is gorgeous. Out on the water, you’ll see small boats and jet skis creating small waves, but overall, the lake remains calm and enjoyable.
And don’t miss the sunset, it’s the perfect way to end the day with a breathtaking view.
Whether you’re swimming, kayaking, grilling, or just relaxing by the shore, Lake Perris is a beautiful place to spend the day with...
Read moreIn the past Lake perris was known for a not so clean recreational Campground/lake. The water was drained,so repairs could be done on the Dam,and it also helped create more plants/trees for fish to hide around, and take our lures. I only started going back last year. Since last april they have added more water, and is very close to its 100% capacity, the Restrooms, water, beaches, and camp areas are cleaner and clearer. weekdays are great to go fishing,BBQ, or anything you do there to have a good time. The weekdays are great if you want a nice quiet time, with friends, family,Both or even alone. There is ussuly 1-3 boats on the water. Now the weekends are different, and holidays. The marina still rents out boats that are kinda beat up,and the price is high per hour. The Lake now allows you fish from the dock. For a fee of course, $2 for kids $3 for adults. The price for park entry is $10 for the day, camping is separate price. The Lake also offers hiking and a paved trail that wraps around the lake for Bike riding,or running.the South end of the lake has a small area to picnic, camp and fish. At one time you could swim, but i would not recommend it. Only because people fish and it has alot more broken bushes that you can not see since the water level raised. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me and i will answer as soon as i see them. I have been going to lake perris for over 20 years. I moved to moreno valley in 1985,moved...
Read moreThis lake is beautiful, but nothing can make up for the awful experience I had when spending a day at the beach there to go swimming. There were a ton of people there, which was to be expected on such a hot weekend day. The type of people was the problem. The beach was filled with families who had no regard to noise or pollution. They all had huge tents, coolers and even Weber grills they set up right on the beach, so the smell of lighter fluid was everywhere. They had huge speakers blaring music from all directions. They threw all their garbage on the ground without picking it up. There were people drinking beer in the water, then crushing their cans and dropping them. Flaming hot cheetos bags and Reese cup wrapppers were flying by, you name it. I was worried about stepping on glass or cans, so I swam out to get away from the people and go where my feet wouldn’t touch, and ironically got yelled at by the coast guard boat. They said you are only allowed to swim where your feet can touch the bottom. I pointed out the people polluting and getting drunk, but neither the coast guard nor lifeguards cared about that. I also noticed that unlike California ocean beaches which have garbage cans everywhere, the park only had large dumpsters, which were located far from the water, so nobody bothered to use them. I can only image how dirty this lake actually is. I will...
