This trail is so pretty and was enjoying my jog until I was nearly run down by several cyclists who were speeding around me at high rates of speed. They brought to mind, Lance Armstrong on the Tour de France. Only one of a dozen called out “on your left”. On subsequent visits I experienced even more of an onslaught of the same. Having witnessed a pedestrian getting hit by a cyclist which resulted in a broken back, I decided to start walking in the opposite direction. This decision was made in order to have a visual of the cyclist approaching me and for my safety. I have experienced several cyclists harassing me by shouting “you’ re Going the wrong way”! They are aggressive and threatening. Unbeknownst to them, the law dictates that cyclist and pedestrians travel in opposite directions for the very reasons I mentioned above. So, not only are these cyclists attempting to intimidate pedestrians to avoid using the trail, many of them are completely ignorant of the law! One of the cyclists had the nerve to tell me the trail is a “cycling trail “ ! This demonstrates the mindset of these individuals. Literally feet off the path before it dead ends/begins at a large parking lot, is a large open air patio. Under the high cover, there are over half a dozen picnic tables spaced fast apart. There are two (yes, two) sets of drinking fountains. The bathrooms are clean, spacious and adjacent to the patio.
