We were here mid week in early June 2021. I believe there are over 90 campsites, laid out in about three sections. There are many brick toilet buildings scattered through out the campground areas (I did not go in one so they may only be pit toilets), and one section has a nice bathroom /shower building with flush toilets and handicap stalls. There is a pop machine in front of this building. That section also has a couple handicap campsites, where the entire site is level and paved.

All the campsites only have electricity, but there are water drinking fountains and water spigots scattered around the sections. The campsites all have metal fire pits with grill grates, a picnic table, and gravel parking areas for your camper (many are not totally level, so bring some leveling blocks). Most sites are reservable, but they also have some 'first come' non-reservable sites. We stayed in a small loop of these 'first come' sites near the shower building. We drove through on a Friday afternoon and saw many reservable sites still available. On the Tuesday we arrived most of the campsites were unoccupied. Campsites are $20 per night ($15 for senior citizens). The roads are all paved, and the speed limit on the main roads is 20 mph, 10 mph in the camp site loops. There are large picnic shelters available for rent for groups. There is a dump station for emptying your camper's holding tanks.

The park has a radio controlled model airplane area, an archery area, equestrian and hiking paths, and a very nice, smallish lake. The lake area has a very small restaurant, and I believe they have a few rental boats and bait available. There is not a swimming area, and boats are limited in horsepower and have a no-wake restriction. There is a nice paved boat ramp and car/ trailer parking area. There are several fishing piers scattered around the lake perimeter. Fishing licenses can be purchased at the Shell gas station in nearby Morrison, according to a sign I saw near the shower building. I also saw a sporting goods store in Morrison that had fishing gear in the windows.

Morrison has several restaurants, bar and grills (Fat Boys has fantastic 1/2 lb burgers and large salads), small shops, a grocery store, Dairy Queen, McDonalds, and more. The county fairgrounds is located in Morrison.

The park is very well maintained, and the campground hosts are friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised that the campgrounds were not crowded even on a weekend. We will...

Pretty park that may well rate five stars ( I haven't camped there). Well kept, a beautiful small lake that has boat rentals and a snack bar available, and the campgrounds appear to have lots of large, shaded sites, dispersed so that your neighbors aren't right on top of you.

Most recently we went to the park on the Saturday after the Thursday July 4th holiday. There were still a large number of campsites open, so the park must not get too crowded. I noticed they do have a shower building. I also noticed special areas for bank fishing and they have a large, special area for radio controlled airplanes.

As an aside, nearby Morrison is a nice town with plenty of dining and drinking choices. The Whiteside county fair is held there (in August I believe). I heartily recommend Fat Boys bar and grill if you want a huge, juicy burger or other sandwich if you are...

The park is nice, but mainly for fishing and boating. Not many hiking trails. The campground is nice, but had issues with noisy neighbors. The daytime host was great to work with; however, the evening host in my loop was AWOL the first night and hardly there the second. Left without finishing the third night.

No refund policy. Only accepts cash at the site. Need to wait for host to arrive to site to pay. However, the daytime host was accommodating.

Posts your name, license plate number and zip code on your site post which is visible for anyone to see. Prefer sites where the office keeps info and posts a random number and date on site.

Fire wood sold at little restaurant, but closes early. Appears to have a drop box and honor system to drop off payment.

They have a speed camera at the entrance and the bathrooms...

We stayed for 3 days and it was a great experience. Jane was absolutely wonderful checking in with us each day and she was such a gem to talk to! We even had a chat about the style tent we brought because it was something new that everyone was checking out. It was quiet for the most part and easy to get around the park. The showers were an added bonus! The lake was nice and the lily pads were fun to look at. We saw a deer right next to our camp and a decent sized turtle down by the lake. I think the next time we go we will pick an area that is more secluded as we were next to the park. I didn't realize it was such a busy spot and our dogs love people so it was fun to keep them at bay to say the least. We will be back in the fall for sure! Thank you Jane for being such a great host! :)
