I really enjoy Loew Vineyards. I tried a few baby sips of their Gruner Veltliner at an event in Frederick, enjoyed it, and made a mental note to visit their property to try their other wines. A few weeks later, we were able to go in to Mt Airy at their vineyard and do a tasting. I enjoyed every wine I had; i had a mostly red wine tasting as well as a mead and sweet. I loved that they were flexible with which wines I wanted to try - often wine tastings in Maryland are pre-selected for you. I also liked that they let you take your tasting wine glass home with you as a souvenir. It’s actually my favorite wine glass at home now. I enjoyed their wines so much that I signed up for their wine club. I also like the story and legacy behind this winery, and Rachel the winemaker seems to be really passionate about the wine that is produced, and it shows in the wines themselves. Rachel really does a wonderful job of making you feel welcomed and taken care of, I received a delicious goat cheese gift and some of her family’s delicious challah bread with my wine club allocation. I don’t feel like another number at this winery. I look forward to continuing to visit and bringing my family and...
Read moreA really nice visit to this small winery but with a big heart as Rachel Lipman, currently the vineyard manager and general manager of the family business after the death of her 96-year-old William Loew, her grandfather, vineyard founder and Polish Holocaust survivor. She’s very personable with a great passion for the business which it’s been reflected on the quality of their excellent wines which in my opinion are not that expensive.
She’d introduced herself in a very spontaneous way and talked to Us giving also a tour of their facilities while providing us with an explanation and a taste of several of their wines and upcoming mead (a fermented honey and water), which it’s delicious.
Without a doubt, she’ll continue to carry on to the family legacy success as her recent wine awards shows. We’ll make sure to visit this great...
Read moreWonderful experience! We brought our small child and we were able to set up outside as a family with the beautiful vines nearby on a beautiful fall afternoon. Lovely solid tables and chairs were provided. They offered we could walk amongst the vines which were lovely to look at. We did the tastings and a cheese flight with crackers. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, very professional and very kind. We chose our favorite wine and purchased a. bottle. You could bring a large family or a couple of families or friends and setup all around one table or bring tables together. The views were gorgeous. What a great way to spend a beautiful fall afternoon! Highly...
