Beech Hill Farm — Attraction in Mount Desert

All organic, all local products. Wide variety of vegetables and herbs grown on site. Meats, fish, eggs, dairy, honey, and baked goods from the region. They also carry coffee.

Beautifully displayed and fresh, fresh, fresh! Note that the meats are frozen but it only took me a short time to thaw out the wild caught scallops we picked up for dinner. Delicious! The farm is owned by the local College of the Atlantic (COA) and staffed by friendly, knowledgeable college students. Very professional operation. The prices are great. Forget the chain grocery stores. You can do almost all your major food shopping here except for dry goods, cooking oil, some seasonings and condiments.

A fun, quick stop with organic produce and great lemonade.

This farm was such a cute find while we were in Acadia. On the way to Beech Mountain, the farm is just off the road and has a large barn to shop for produce, gifts, and other foods. We got a large jar of honey and a lemonade, which ended up being amazing. They also sell breads, sandwiches, and other premade foods but when we went (last weekend of September) they had stopped making sandwiches for the season. Overall a fun visit and a good opportunity to support local farmers.

They are also taking social distancing seriously, and will only allow 4 people into the shop at one time, so be aware that if you come during a busy time you might not be able to send in more...

The farm just keeps getting better! It’s been part of the College of the Atlantic for a long time now, and staffed by students or grads. New farmstand is beautiful and allows for more produce, and local products. Currently selling Maine Flavor vegan ice cream in pints and sandwiches. Atlantic Sea Farms vegan kelp burgers. Tootsie Tempeh, Heiwa Tofu, and a bunch more local yummies for those that opt for a vegan diet. The produce is all certified organic and gorgeous.
