Quite a large park with a big lake surrounded by a path that people use for walking, running, teaching kids to ride bikes, etc. A few playgrounds, trail through undeveloped portion, a rent-able pavilion, grills, bathrooms, snack machine, small fenced in dog parks (one for small dogs and one for larger dogs), lots of open field area, big sledding hill in the middle. The lake allows fishing and is full of the standards-- ducks, toads, fish, turtles, dragonflies. A blue heron visits frequently. Last fall I saw a pair of bald eagles visiting. The other side of the park has a bunch of baseball fields for little league. These are pretty nice facilities for little league. They provide shade for fans and most have seperate dugout areas and bullpens. They are kept locked when not in use. The only thing I dislike are the signs at the playground equipment because they include dumb rules (no running? If not at the park...
Read moreWe absolutely love laurel acres. The playground is the best I've seen in South jersey, for kids and their parents. The zip line is so fun. Outside of the playground you'll find a paved walking path around the pond and a larger one around the big hill. In winter, the hill is a neighborhood favorite for sledding. Beyond the playground and exercise area, you'll find a nature trail in the woods. I'm not sure how often this trail is maintained. At times it looks a bit shady back there. There's a creek running through the woods and my child and I were attacked by mosquitoes. Not just one or two. Hundreds of bites between the two of us. It was horrible. Stay away from the creek in the summer.
The only other con I'd say is the slides don't appear to have drain holes. After a night of rain they still have puddles at the bottom which is a bummer...
Read moreLaurel Acres Park is fantastic, and it's only gotten better with all the recent upgrades! I've always enjoyed this park, but the improvements have really taken it to the next level. The new basketball court is a standout addition – the court is perfect for a pickup game or just shooting some hoops.
Beyond the court, the park is looking great overall. The playgrounds are a big hit with kids, and I've noticed they've made them more modern and accessible. It's just a really pleasant place to be, with the lake, walking trails, and plenty of open space.
It's definitely a go-to spot, especially in the summer. Whether you're looking to play some sports, have a picnic, let the kids run around, or just relax by the water, Laurel Acres has something for everyone. Highly...
