At first, the staff were great and helpful when it came to adopting our kitten Storm. We entered their foster-to-adopt program since there was a great offer for them to continue paying for medical care until he was old enough to get neutered. The staff seemed to never know what was going on. One staff member would say something and the other would say something different regarding appointment times. We rescheduled his appointments multiple times. They would call us the day of and tell us that their doctor wasn't available, or they overbooked, or this or that. Once they gave my fiance a call and told him Storm was ready to be picked up from his appointment, and he was sitting in our laps! After they had called us the same morning and canceled due to their doctor! They are totally unprofessional, Im surprised this hasn't happened to other families. Im beyond grateful we are finished with the adoption process and no longer have to work with these people. The told us their doctor gave them a schedule of one they were available and they scheduled from there, well that didn't make sense as they always had some excuse as to why the doctor wasn't available. The amount of "miscommunication" that happens in this building is incredibly concerning. They are lucky we keep good track of our pets, because our kitten certainly would have been in someone else's home if not. Adopt here if you enjoy running in circles and want...
Read moreI have been visiting Mt.Shasta animal shelter since October 2022, I am so impressed with the whole facility! Jasmine with her beautiful smile and Austin his devoted attention both who want nothing but the best for their animals. I have seen many Animal Shelters that don't offer anything like this one. They are very dedicated to their job. From fostering to adoption and meeting their health needs... very impressive! I have helped with dog walking, play time (1 on 1), fostering and anxious to help out more when needed. But most of all in the next day or 2 I get to bring home my long, long needed doggie friend. For his forever...
Read moreLong story made somewhat shorter..we found a young cat abandoned up on Mt. Shasta. We took it to the animal hospital and he ended up at this Humane Society. We decided to adopt him, but were about to go on vacation. Despite our best efforts, we could not take him with us. The Humane society and Kim, the director, were really great & kept the cat for us until we came back. This was really amazing, and we are grateful for everything they did for the little cat we ended up adopting. Kim was especially great, and it's obvious she cares about...
