As a college: My brother went here for two years, until the music department was suddenly closed down. Students found out through the local paper, and it was just handled very poorly. However, I have heard the school has improved a great deal since then, which I am glad of, and some of my friends went there after my brother's time there and seemed to like it. We have very few Baptist colleges in Georgia, and I hope this one is a good option for new students.
As a campus: I've been here for camp several different times and found the campus itself to be fairly standard as far as housing goes. Some places were in need of repairs, while some were newer and pretty; basically what you'd normally find at a college campus. The food was pretty standard as well. The grounds themselves are very pretty, including a lake and some special features by the lake. I actually met my husband at a camp here in the pavilion by the lake, and then last August he proposed in the pavilion. It has a lot of history for us, and I think of the place with the warmest of memories (literally and figuratively, as South Georgia's heat in the summer...
Read moreI cannot say one redeeming thing about my experience at BPC. Attended for 2.5 years, only went for baseball. The head coach was fired. All of the assistant coaches were fired. The best players on the team were kicked off. All of this happened in a year and a half. The program went from A to F. They hired Ergun Caner, a wonderful Christian man who loved everyone just to force him out soon after due to his ethnicity. There is nothing to do in this small town, the facilities on campus are nonexistent, the curfews are ridiculous, the amenities are worn down, the atmosphere is bleak, teachers rotate over and over, so there is no consistency, the program had no accreditation; when I transferred, I lost a year of college and had to repeat my prerequisites. I would not be leaving this review if not for two reasons. Reason the first, 10 years later someone asks me where I attended, so I pull it up to show them. Reason the second, when I pulled it up, I see the school review is 4.5 stars when it is not worthy of the 1 star in...
Read moreI went to Brewton-Parker College for two years. I would say it is was great 50% of the time and was awful the other 50% of the time. It was a very small and great christian environment around the professors. Most students were very nice on campus. It was a very kind and accepting environment, but the living situations are awful. The buildings are very old, unclean, and run down on campus. I lived in one complex with seven other guys. This complex only contained two stalls and two showers. It might have just been my experience, but they do not have a huge variety of choice of where you...
