We’ve visited Grist Mill Park for years. We’ve gone there for soccer, basketball, baseball and the playground. Those facilities are decent - especially the various soccer fields and turf. I give it one star because parking is only ok and the restroom options are abysmal - third -world level restroom option.
They need to make parking lot one way to improve traffic flow. They should also pave the grass lot given the mud that happens when wet.
Only restroom options are one or two port-o-johns. Given the high volume of people that use the park, especially in sports seasons when thousands go to the park each Saturday, the port-o-johns are disgusting. As a male, I can hold my nose and tolerate it, but it is not suitable for use by women/girls. Because there is no running water, no real way for anyone to maintain proper hygiene. Grist Mill dog park is hit or miss for us. Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes people aren't good about keeping an eye on their dogs.
Pros: The park itself is huge, with lots of room for dogs to run. There are lots of trees for shade, and benches and picnic tables for people to sit at. There's tons of parking, but you'll have to walk a little ways up the trail to access the dog park.
Cons: The stone dust surface can get pretty dusty if there hasn't been any rain, and will hold puddles of questionable liquids if it has. There are kiddie pools there, which some people enjoy for their dogs, but that breed mosquitoes and add to a gross muddy situation around the water pump. Not an issue in winter, but definite an issue...

-PLENTY of parking space, I would be completely surprised if parking was ever fully at capacity the parking lot is so big. -Large park - The park is not only large but also has tons of trees scattered around so even on a bright and hot summer day you can still be in the shade all around the park -Nearby trail - if you wanted to take your dog on a walk or jog before/after the park there is a trail nearby you can do so. -Water station - There is a water station right by the entrance of the park that has some large bowls for your dog to drink out of. additionally there is a small plastic pool for your dog...
