Lake Linville is a 356-acre reservoir in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. It was created in 1968 by the construction of the earthen Renfro Dam, 72 feet high with a length of 1,100 feet, owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The dam is a highway fill embankment along Interstate 75.

The marina is great, but the boat ramp is just horrid with huge holes that your trailer will be sideways while launching. Not to mention the water level is max 4ft for about 400yrds till you hit the first buoy (out of the wake zone). The water level is the worst part though. Do not take an expensive boat unless you have common sense and don't mind trolling forever to get to the deeper part which is about 25-35ft. Overall though the lake is beautiful but seriously needs someone to invest money.

Lake Linville is a good lake and has a variety of fish to catch from base, catfish, blue gill and so on. The boat ramp is better than most I have used but still small. There are some amazing places to go to around the lake and I like going to the backside where there is hardly anyone at to sit and just look out over the lake. Lake Linville is good for kayaking or boating since most of your bigger boats go to other bigger lakes.

This is a fantastic spot to go fishing or just bring the family and go to the play park. We seen sand cranes and turtles and all kinds of other wildlife, nothing dangerous but it's only May and this is KY so take that with a grain of salt. Bring the family and enjoy your day at Lake Linville!

Nice lake to visit about 30 minutes south of Richmond KY. Water looks to be very clean and saw a few speed boats & pontoon boats out on the lake & one person water skiing.
