Forest Edge Winery — Attraction in Mount Washington

This winery is incredible. The staff are so friendly and helpful and make great recommendations! The wine itself is amazing. The flavors are so rich and delicious; I'm honestly not even a wine person and I loved the wines here. We had such a hard time picking which bottles to take home because they were all so good! We did a wine tasting and I was pretty nervous as I normally dislike wine, but based on the staff recommendations, all 6 wines I tried, I loved. The prices are, in my opinion, low for the high quality wine and experience you're getting. They have such good sales. We actually accidentally dropped the wine bottles off the table and they didn't even break! Total accident but it just speaks volumes of the quality of what you get here. The atmosphere is like visiting a friend's house honestly - it's so welcoming and cozy and the staff really care about you, listen to your tastes, and make such accurate recommendations. AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! We drove in from Florida and it's been so hard to find any local distilleries or wineries that are still open and offering tastings or tours because of covid19. We stumbled upon Forest Edge Winery on Groupon and we called for more info. Right away and Annette answered the phone and she was so polite and filled with warmth and information. We felt intrigued and now compelled to drive 35 minutes from Louisville to come here because we read all of the wonderful reviews and saw all of the awards there wine had received and it sounded promising. As soon as we got here we were greeted by Allison and we did a tasting. Me and my spouse were able to sample six wine each and we ended up purchasing three bottles along with their delicious aged Norwood cheese which came with a package of complementary Ritz crackers and we purchase the power blend nuts and made our own little cheese and nut platter. The hospitality that we have encountered while being here in Louisville is incomparable. This Winery deserves every Star they have received!

I discovered this wine when I lived in Bowling Green. When I was moving to Bardstown I was unfamiliar with the area so I came all the up to exit 112 on the interstate. When I drove past Forest Edge I hit my brakes and turned around to see if this was my favorite wine. Dressed in moving and painting clothes I went in on a Sunday afternoon and was so excited I had to take a picture with the man working that day. I sent it out to my daughter and she was like “mother, could you not wait until you had decent clothes on?” Lol so I deleted the photo to saves my daughters embarrassment but this young man told me about the wine club and I couldn’t wait to sign up. It’s been just about 3 years and I still love Forest Edge Wine. I’ve been to some of the gatherings, whenever I get out of town company I bring them down for a tasting and then a bottle of wine with cheese and crackers.
