What a wonderful spot. Had a great visit to see this corner of the Ozarks where time stopped in the mid-40s. Called ahead and Joe whose family has owned the mill and surrounding farm since 1957 gave us the full story about this forgotten village that had a mill, post office, blacksmith and store. The mill boasts the original equipment from 1905 and he still grinds corn periodically. The old store is filled with antiques and curiosities. Joe and his wife Betsy are super hosts and love chatting about their little piece of history. One of our most enjoyable trips of the summer. Topaz is set in a quiet valley along the upper reaches of the North Fork River. Highly recommended and worth the trip. P.S.Their Christmas decorations are pretty special from what...

This beautiful and recently repainted mill still has the water flume leading from the adjacent spring, channeling an impressive amount of water into the North Fork. Just a spectacular gem tucked away into the folds of the southern Missouri Ozarks.

Update 12/15/24 - We visited again and this time had the pleasure of meeting the owners Joe and Betsy. They graciously allowed us to tour the inside of both the mill and the general store to get a glimpse of true Missouri history. Very picturesque and in a beautiful rural setting along the North Fork River. We had an amazing visit and looking forward to...

This was no doubt the best of the best mills I have ever visited. Bob O'Neal and his wife (and very friendly dog) have a most informative tour of the mill showing how the corn was milled (they still mill corn). The General Store was filled with old items and the most interesting things. Have them show you the two 100 year old toys. Ok, the drive is rough but well worth the drive. Tell them the two couples from Rogersville and Grandview...
