I love this lake but hate that the US Army Corps has to always flood us and this hurts the local businesses who can't really afford the loss of income. The same were built and the Corp was not supposed to be making money from them but does anyone know how much they get paid every time the open the flood gates to produce electric? Over 1 million dollars. Plus they charge the businesses for dock rent along lots other fees that you don't know about until its to late and then all you can do is pay them or get a lien against your property. Read moreThis lake is large, clean, and looks very natural. It's controlled by the army core of engineers so that very few homes are visible from the lake. The water level changes quite dramatically over the year, the the core does a good job cleaning the lake after flooding, and the two resteraunts on the lake near Big Creek Resort are both high enough to be open flooding or not.
