Nestled in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a beautiful cascade; Miners Falls. The trail is along the way to Miners Castle beach and lookout. After parking in the small lot you will walk 0.6 miles to a set of stairs that has multiple points to watch the beautiful running water. The water plunges 40 feet along the Miner River. I believe this is an excellent addition to a visit to Pictured Rocks NL. This waterfall is located near the west end of Pictured Rocks by Munising, Michigan.

As we walked back to our car a fellow sightseer asked if it was worth the hike. My husband and I said 'absolutely!' The hike was beautiful, several rocks and roots, but easily done with Bob stroller, 0.6 miles each way with markers 1-11 letting you know how far you've gone. You will want to take the steps down to the viewing platform at the end. I see photos people have taken from the bottom of the falls, but I'm not sure how you would safely get down there... perhaps an unmarked trail.

This is a nice trail to get back here, but remember, there are stairs that you have to go down and back up, so keep that in mind. I would give this place a 5 stars, but sadly people are beginning to ruin the area. There were people standing on the rocks in the middle of the falls at the top. It was terrifying to see! Lots of people do jump the barriers to go down and get a better view, so there is a lot of erosion happening now. BUT this is still a beautiful waterfall!

I have been here both in the fall and winter. Both times it was very beautiful! A very clean and easy-to-walk flat trail goes about a mile and then you are right there at the overlook! Stunning in fall, very dangerous making the walk from the overlook to the waterfall itself so be careful. The stairs were filled with pure ice and studded cleats did not quite do it. I recommend more advanced ice climbing gear if you want to venture up to the fall when it is frozen.

A beautiful walk to an even more beautiful view the stairs down to the lower viewing platform are a bit weathered and spooky but the view from the platform is amazing. You might even get to see some adventurous souls who climb over the rails at the viewing platform and make the slightly dangerous and frowned upon climb down to the river bed so they can get very close to the falls as you see in my picture.

The single coolest and most worth-it waterfall in the area in my opinion. It has a perfect view from above through a gap in the trees. There is also a semi-manageable unofficial path down the hill to the base of the waterfall. The path is to the left of one of the two wooden platforms that overlooks the falls. At the bottom of the waterfall it is very misty from the water hitting the rocks.
