Early this year I happened across a YouTube video describing the abandoned Cleveland and Eastern interurban railroad. The Cleveland and Eastern (C&E) Interurban Railway was an electric railway that operated between Cleveland and Geauga County in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Having never heard of this interurban before I was surprised to learn that there were remnants of the railroad inside The Rookery. Read moreThe Rookery is a nice set of forest trails. There's a lot of wildlife to encounter, wide variety of plant species, and enough forest to walk in blissful silence. It's not the most spectacular of the Cleveland parks, but it's still a good choice for a hiking rotation. It's also mostly flat, so if you're looking for a place with little to no ups and downs, this is an even better choice.
