If anyone scheduled a visit with this farm and inclement weather prohibited you from going on the scheduled date and they refuse to reschedule your visit at a time that works best for your family(without restricting you to a 30 day reschedule time-frame) please dispute with your bank. Bank of America made sure I got my money back for services not rendered. Good Luck.
UPDATE ABOVE My family purchased tickets for Lucky Ladd farms on 9/16/21. The tickets were for 9/18/21. When 9/18 came it was raining. We received an email from Lucky Ladd stating that our tickets were cancelled and that they would not refund the money for our tickets. Instead of receiving a refund we would have to reschedule our visit but would only have until 10/30 to do so. My kids have a set schedule between their dad and I. The cancellation and limited amount of time to reschedule immediately posed a problem for me. In an effort not to forfeit the 142.00 spent on the tickets, I immediately got online and rescheduled a date that i knew would fall on a weekend that I would have my daughters. I rescheduled for 10/17/21. However, i knew that i would spend the following weeks attempting to contact Lucky Ladd to see if I could extend the tickets validity past the 10/30/21 date. Over a 2 week period I called 3-4 times. I recall their voicemail system stating that the voicemail box would only be checked on Tuesdays, but that someone would listen and return my call. That never happened. I also reached out via Facebook 4 times(every time i attempted to call). There is a indicator on their Facebook page that reads “highly responsive”. Needless to say no one ever responded to my messages there either, until 10/16/21 after i wrote another message. I asked that instead of Sunday 10/17/21, if we could come 10/16/21 because i was able to squeeze in 4 hours to take our family. The owner responded and denied receiving any messages or calls, she all but called me a liar. I noticed that the four messages that i previously sent via Facebook were missing from the Facebook thread. I was astonished that any business owner would go to such great lengths to conceal the fact that they were in fact not responsive. They refused to allow us to come same day and refused to refund our money. I then told the owner that her delayed response combined with their lack of communication pertaining the inquiries made by customers was “disturbing”. Their farm had to shut down because of the weather, no fault of either them or the customer. However, not offering an incentive or refund in the case that a date does not work out for customer, giving a “time-frame” in which tickets have to be used, and not communicating when customers call or message is poor customer service and at the end of it all a way to insure that they benefit either way. I have paid for tickets that havenow become an inconvenience as i have only a month to find another date or my money is forfeited. Also, i have messages from the manager threatening to send my messages to my “superior” and saying that my concern pertaining to their business practices was a stain on my department and a “tantrum”. I have already spoken to my director about the instability of this business owner. This interaction was beyond disappointing as my family visits this farm as a fall tradition. Also, UPDATE: I went to their Facebook page and found out that the farm was booked UNTIL 3:30 on 10/16/21. The owner never offered a later time in the day as an option. SHE HAD EVERY OPPORTUNITY PRIOR TO OUR CONVERSATION ESCALATING TO OFFER A LATER TIME IN THE DAY AS AN OPTION, Yet never did (screenshots for reference) She was adamant about not accommodating my family(i have the screenshots of the conversation) I’ve seen several reviews calling the owner rude and extremely unprofessional, I would have to agree 100%. I fully expect the owner or some employee to respond to this message with only deflection and excuses, as every response to any less than favorable review here displays a lack of ownership and...
Read moreEdit in response to owner’s comment. As anticipated, the owner responded in an attacking manner without taking any responsibility. It is not hard as a business owner to add a banner or pop up on the website to let people know you are closing early. I purchased tickets online and had there been anything like that I would have seen it. Instead, when I went back to look, I had to scroll forever to get to the very bottom of the page where hours are posted in tiny print. It would also be super easy to have a sign as visitors walk up to the farm with the operating hours for the day. At the very least, the person checking people in at the gate should mention it. You had none of the above. I did not arrive “late” as you are to arrive within an hour of the purchased time and I arrived within 30 minutes. I didn’t say anything as we left the farm be use as others have noted, I only saw teenagers working and knew they would not be able to address my concern. I figured a email would be best to reach the proper person. Lastly, who would have imagined you would close at 2:00pm on Halloween, a prime day for families with younger kids to visit for family friendly Halloween fun? So, in summary, I checked the internet for hours, visited your website, pre purchased tickets, arrived within my time frame, was disappointed that you closed early without providing adequate communication and we were only there for an hour after spending over $60, and instead of jumping to leave a negative review I reached out to you the owner first. And still, I am in the wrong? People reading this, please steer clear of this place, if nothing else than on principal for how they run their business. It’s not worth the time and money and gamble of your kids being disappointed and the owner not caring in the least.
I purchased tickets online for myself and my two kids. It was our first time to visit this year and had a couple positive experiences in the past so we were looking forward to it. I checked hours on Google the day before and again the day we were going and both said they were closing at 4:00. We drove 45 min and arrived close to 1:00 with the thought we had 3 hours to enjoy. We spent a good amount of time feeding the animals towards the front and had just started towards the back of the farm when they announced they were closing at 2:00. We hadn’t even been there an hour! My kids were so disappointed! I emailed to let them know that we were not informed on website or when we arrived that they were closing early. There was also no signage as you arrived, which would be an easy way to let customers know. I shared that my kids were disappointed they didn’t get to fully experience the farm and asked for a refund or tickets for a different day, which I thought would be an easy solution. Instead, I received a very rude response from the owner that lacked any sort of empathy or resolution. She said I should have planned better and can see from other negative reviews here this is a common response. I imagine there will likely be a similar one to this review. It is truly surprising from a business owner. Had we been offered the opportunity to return a different day, it would not have cost the farm anything and we would have spent money on concessions and other things and would have continued to return in future years. Instead, we won’t be back and will take our business to another farm that values its customers. I am only giving 2 stars because we had a previous positive experience, but would highly recommend going elsewhere. I’d also recommend reading the other 1 star reviews. Having people drive over an hour and then wait in line for over an hour to be turned away with no empathy or offer for a return visit is just unbelievable and sadly, sounds like it has happened multiple times. There are other farms in the area who will appreciate your business and make sure it’s a positive experience your kids...
Read moreWe had to purchase tickets online ahead of time for a particular time slot (ours was for 1:00) as their website stated you must have reservations and no walk ups would be allowed…they said this was to cut down on “crowds” which we assumed would be helpful and sounded promising. Unfortunately, we were very wrong. When we arrived, we had to wait about 10 minutes in the road to even make it in the parking lot because of the volume of cars. Once we finally made it to the parking area, the traffic guards were completely useless and did not direct us at all, unless it was to berate me for going in the wrong direction. No initiative whatsoever. I’m really not even sure why they were there. We finally found a parking spot and get out to meet my MIL. My MIL walks over to our car and we are discussing how insanely crowded the place was and wondering what the point of purchasing the tickets online was for, since there were so many people there. Let me clarify that we have been to Luckys several times before and this is, by far, the busiest we had ever seen it! As we were talking, a parking lot employee was walking by and heard our conversation and proceeds to catch an attitude as he interjects himself into our conversation about how “they do in fact make you purchase online to avoid it getting too crowded at once.” Completely uncalled for and frankly, none of his business. My MIL then stepped on an ant hill in the parking lot and got bit by several fire ants…ants are a major issue there, along with yellow jackets. Both are EVERYWHERE and should definitely be addressed. The line to get in was still ridiculously long, even though every single person on the farm had prepaid so it should not have taken us 20 minutes of waiting to even get in. Once we finally got in, there were unreasonably long lines for absolutely everything. My daughters both really enjoyed the train ride, slide, and pony rides but not the 15-20 minute wait for every activity. I got in line just to get 3 drinks, waited over 25 minutes and paid $13! Place is a ripoff and they really should minimize occupancy if they want people to fully enjoy their time there. I will also mention that the train ride was nice and enjoyable except for the fact that they had wet it down so much that the tires were slinging wet gravel water and mud all over the passengers! This brings me to the grounds…the grounds were a muddy nightmare. Mud was literally EVERYWHERE. I understand that you would get somewhat dirty at a pumpkin patch but this was just too much IMO. My kids and I were completely filthy by the time we left that place. Overall, this place has really gone downhill due to greed, and their rude employees. They have ruined what used to be a fun place to...
