What an awesome experience! š¤š»
Lets start with the above and WAAAY beyond treatment.
The morning of the event, my 4Runner had a flat. Typically not an issue, I would simply change the tire and move on with life. Not this day, for some reason, my tire iron was not in my kit, thus, we cannot change the tire. Being that we are pretty far out there, there is no ride-share available to get to a tire store to buy one nor get to Tank Town.
I called the guys at TT to ask if there was any way in hell they could pick up my wife and I, and then on the way back, let me stop to buy a tire iron.
Mind you, I figured this was a LONG SHOT. They are running an experience company, not a taxi service. BUT, lady luck shined on us this day and there was an employee that happened to have availability.
He picked us up, dropped us off and helped changed the tire. We tipped him $100.
NOW, lets discuss the event. What an great time. These guys know how to pit on an event. From the moment you start the show, they have all the angles covered to ensure it is fully documented for you with video and photo.
** This is done with YOUR PHONE(s) so make sure it is charged. They are not trying to so it with their cameras and charge you to get the footage.
I could easily make this a 20 min read explaining the amazing time my wife and I had, beyond what I have already explained. Just know that this is an exceptionally well oiled and organized event and crew. That really know how to make each moment count. My wife and I will most assuredly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat an amazing experience. This is a MUST DO. Splurge to crush the car-- Todd pulled out some spray paint and a sledgehammer for us to go ham on the car before we crushed it. All 5 in our party crushed 1 car from 5 angles and it was perfect. You get more time on the tank than I figured there'd be, which was nice. You can also sit on top of the tank while someone else is making their laps and that was awesome.
The excavator was so much fun. Who knew digging and filling giant holes in dirt would be so rewarding!
Todd and Andrew were so nice and great at making us all feel at ease, laughing along with us and always ready to take a group photo and to encourage us to take video at the perfect time.
Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and prepare to get dirty. I recommend sunglasses or a hat and definitely sunscreen!
The only bathroom is a port-a-potty. There is hand sanitizer.
Parking is VERY sparse, so carpool if you can.
You simply MUST make the 9 minute drive to Carroll's Barbecue on Lance Drive. Get the Tater...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlanned and went here for a bachelor party and had an absolute blast. Todd and Andrew are friendly and informative, and driving a tank is every bit as cool as it sounds. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time and get plenty of photos. The excavator was an awesome experience as well. We had 6 guys, and none of us finished the day without a huge smile. Cannot recommend Tank Town enough.
For those of you complaining about the tank being an APC, show me when and where you get to drive anything even remotely like this with a seamless experience. You are not going to "out-macho" an APC, it's still a 15 ton beast that crushes cars like wet paper. It doesn't need to be an Abrams to be a great time. (And no facility is going to put you behind the controls of an MBT, without extensive training) Besides, "APC town usa" doesn't quite have the same ring to it. But forget the naysayers....
