I went there expecting to go to a dog park... It's definitely a park but there's no dog park, at least the park itself isn't fenced in or anything so if you don't trust your dog off leash or your dog doesn't come when called I'd definitely keep your dog on leash just in case. However it does have a nice open field as well as a mini woody forest area that my dog loved roaming, on the other side of the park through the tunnels there's a nice woody area as well that has a Frisbee course on it if you like playing Frisbee.
If this place was fenced in it'd be better but other than that it was a very nice, mostly clean park, the greenery and trees are beautiful.
Few trash here and there, I picked up a bit. If everyone did a bit it definitely look nicer. They do need more trash cans though, could be why kids decide to throw their trash in nature, cause they are too lazy to walk to the trash cans.
Anyways, so to clarify... NOT a dog park but IS a park that you can take your dogs... On leash preferred.
PS. great place to take family pictures!!!!! Bring out those...
Read moreThis was the most beautiful park in murrieta. You disturbed land that had gophers living on it and other wildlife. Put a cement pathway and mulch to replace the grass. I like that seniors and people with disability can now go into the park and there’s a parking lot and dog park for safety but I really hope they let the grass come back on the rest of the land at least. I hope the path of the forest ground is kept naturally how it is without adding a cement path. The magic of this place especially for the dogs is that it was natural with lots of vegetation to explore. It’s the inland empire we don’t need more dust and mulch. This place was used by a lot of photographers I don’t see how it would be a spot for...
Read moreBeautiful, peaceful space (and huge)! Enjoyed our trip there earlier this morning (I took my doggo and 19 month old daughter). We parked in the nearby community (not sure if the park had a designated parking lot--i don't think it does). Walked to the park and enjoyed our visit. We saw two concrete tables, trash receptacle, bbq, and water bowl I'm assuming for doggos. My husband's grandmother lives in The Colony and this park is close by -- we'll be back. The entrance of the park has a big sign with the name of the park along with trash receptacles and potty bags for doggos....
