my family has enjoyed the love of books, etc at the Murrysville Community Library for 42 years. now my son's family relishes in joys of story hour, books, and al. Thanks always to the volunteers and librarians who keep us kowledgeable and up to date on our reads. 2 yrs ago I posted a 5 star review of the library. unfortunately I no longer can give that excellent review due to the circulation desk staff(or volunteers) lack of interaction w us customers. back in the 70's when i was a nursing instructor, part of the students evaluation was called AFFECTIVE DOMAIN. a student could be the most knowledgeable and accurate detailed person, but w no personal relationship w the patient, could fail out of the school due to poor interpersonal skills. excluding Carol Seifkin and Judy(last name not known), staff just goes through the motion of checking out the books. very seldom is a cashier enthusiastic in checking out a customer purchasing groceries or clothing, but a library should be a joyful environment welcoming individuals as they enter and leave. another thing is i didnt know the last head of the library or now the present head. past librarian directors, Jamie and Mrs Wilson, had a strong presence, not hiding behind ...
Read moreI took my 7 year old grandson to Murrysville Community Library today. It was a rainy day and I thought this would be the perfect time to visit. He loved it!! The enormous choice of books for his age group was amazing!! He chose one book after another that he wanted to take home to read. In fact, it was a total of 18! It made me feel so good that he was this excited about reading. He is already looking forward to going back. I can't forget to mention the library workers and how they were so helpful...
