Short version: Fun course in very good condition. Long version: My expectations were low. A few, apparently outdated reviews talked about poor conditions. One nine had been shut down, making me think maybe the whole course should be shut down. The design idea could be too gimicky and how could you possible realize something like Augusta on flat, Low Country terrain? My expectations were completely wrong. This is a fun course in great condition. A member told me there had been an ownership change that had made a big difference in maintenance and operations. Rather than being the typical Myrtle Beach course where the maintenance just doesn't keep up with the wear, the conditions are those of a nice private course, mostly thick, even, weedless grass with little wear in spite of a full tee sheet. The course design is not the typical Myrtle Beach model either, where housing development takes precedence over golf. It is a compact design with tees close to the previous green. It feels like a golf course rather than a neighborhood with golf holes interspersed through it. As for the idea of the holes being inspired by the great holes of the world, I think it pays off. No, their version of Augusta 11 doesn't have an 80 foot elevation change and the greens may not have the same tiers and slopes but it but it still gives the flavor of the famous holes and are still fun to play. The major design features of the famous holes are there. And those other nine holes that were shut down? They still seem to be there and haven't been developed for housing yet. Maybe they'll be...
Read moreWe have been wanting to play this course for a couple of years now. The time had come and we made our tee time. Granted we are not the best players and we understand course etiquette and pace of play. We let golfers play through and such. This is a pretty nice and interesting course. So, we paid $100 to play just like everyone else. But then come HERM the almighty ranger. HERM kept on like a leach!! He told us we need to pick up the pace!! We didn’t even finish a couple of hole because of HERM the mighty ranger. Oh by the way that was on the front 9. Then we make the turn the ranger was great. He asked how we were playing and everything really cool guy. Then we start the back 9. I thought we we’re playing at a reasonable pace, but oh not for HERM the mighty ranger. HERM told us we need to pick up the that there was 2 open holes in front of us. There HERM was again watching us like a hawk from the sky. I would say my pace of play slowed down, because it’s hard to play with HERM the almighty ranger in your back pocket. I hate say this but HERM the mighty ranger has ruined my golf experience at this course. I really wanted to play this course with my son on Father’s Day weekend. I am not going to let HERM the mighty ranger ruin the rest of my weekend like he did our golf game. Thanks HERM !!!!!

Read moreThis course is my friend's favorite course, and I had some elevated expectations, especially having played a few other local courses nearby... I was however disappointed. Yes, we played the day after a rain storm... but it doesn't excuse the multiple missteps, starting with when I arrived to check-in... I was asked if I received any notification on the conditions. I did not. I was then told that due to the rain water, it was cartpath only (fine) and 3 holes would be closed off and we would be "redirected." I was led to believe, that while we were going to be redirected for 3 holes, that we would get to play a full 18 set of holes... this was not the case. With all of that, no discounts or partial refunds were offered due to the poor conditions and lower count of holes available. There were literally "lakes" in the middle of the fairways that were too wide and deep for you to step in to retrieve the ball... after a will played shot that should have been in good position. This was a huge let down. While I could see how the course might be nice if not for our rain conditions, I cannot excuse the poor customer service and handling of it all. Would rather try other courses in the area before...
