Long version: Many of the areas where the wood from the 'Wooden park" come to contact with our skin is worn or splintered due to age and despite evidence of being continuously cared for and well maintained both by the city of Nacogdoches as well as various volunteers. Also, due to the nature of the large wooden structures, I found it difficult and even frustrating at times to keep up with the preschool aged kiddos, who, if anything like mine, may not answer when their name is called. Causing me to be in constant momma bear mode for fear of him having suddenly vanished. Not a great feeling.... Compound this with the fact that it can feel a bit maze-like, due to the "UH-OH!! Dead-end" feeling one might experience when, during your active pursuit of said$ beloved and youthfully energized preschooler, you come to an area of the park where the children can move freely from one enclosed area to another, but adults can NOT and thus, must slam on the breaks, turn around, retrace steps, find another big people sized route, AND try to keep an eye on that beloved and fully energized preschooler before they slip away into the wooden maze of heavy breathing and you've got to start again at step 1. Whew! Makes me tired just trying to explain it.
