It’s ok but. …Has running path. Goes along napa river. Napa river is kinda ugly. Left natural grasses and I saw a deer and a fat jackrabbit. Homeless have a tent city at one end which is cool except they don’t keep it clean. Don’t get me wrong, I like living in a stealth van so I’m a firm believer that being homeless is ok as long as it’s done with some class. The place use to be part of the state insane asylum and it kinda still has that feel. A body could easily be hidden in the grass along the trail. The state hospital is still nearby- it houses the criminally insane which is what napa was known for before the wine was discovered. The hospital is on the south east side of town and is surrounded by razor wire. It used to be 2,000 acres and skyline park used to be part of it. The sign alone the trail has this...
Read moreReally nice park with tons of different areas. Huge pinic spots for parties, softball fields, skate park, pond, golf course, bmx track, model airplane field, and kids area. We used the kids area with our son and it was great. Two large structures for different ages, and swings. We parked in the first lot, which was a little bit of a walk, but the grass was mowed and felt great on a warm day. Closer parking is just past the playground. We really enjoyed the area and it was pretty well kept and clean. This would also be a great place to bike or jog. We'll be back...
Read moreThis is a park on steroids! There are so many features that there's no way to be bored. Got kids? There's a playground. Want to barbecue? Yup -- there are picnic facilities. Want to kayak? There's an area to slip into the water. Want to go biking? There's a flat, paved trail that'll take you to downtown Napa. I saw a volleyball game in progress, an equestrian who brought her horse for a ride, and a mini airport to fly model airplanes. Skateboarders have a place to practice kickflips.
