The Point Judith Fishermans Memorial is one of my favorite places in Narragansett. I walk my dog there almost every day when I am not traveling. In fact, I enjoy it so much that I wanted to make a donation, and then sign up to make donations in the future. The reason I'm giving the site only three stars is because I had trouble going through the online donation process because I wasn't paying through PayPal (and trying to create an account with my credit card). I ended up writing a check out for $50 and sent it to the address indicated, and explained the problem. I never received any acknowledgment that I made a donation and had to get a copy of my check from the credit union to use it as a deduction. Shortly after I sent an email to the president of the foundation, and then later to the treasurer. I tried to reach out no less than four times and not once did any of them take the time to answer me or to acknowledge that I even reached out. As much as I love the memorial, I will donate to other worthy causes in the area. I'm sure if they updated their website and made it more user-friendly they would have more donations coming in for such a beautiful spot and for such a worthy cause for the fishermen who have lost...
ย ย ย Read moreOn a trip to RI from NY for the first time in many years. Getting there before our VRBO was ready, we first went to Iggy's for a late lunch and then killed some time at the Fisherman's Memorial. The view of the lighthouse from the Memorial was better than at the lighthouse itself. We then walked the jetty and beach area. The beach is sheltered by the jetty, so there are no waves, which makes it great for families with very small children. Unfortunately, people don't heed the signs here (or even at Scarborough Beach) about no pets allowed. Many had dogs running loose, bothering the other dogs and children. We have a dog also, but we did not bring him. I'm not sure why people just can't follow posted rules. Otherwise, it was a fun time. BTW- I also fished off this same jetty, probably 25 years ago -...

Much love and respect for fishing, the ocean, the tides, the moon, and the wind, to all my fishing friends and family members who love this about me. I love this rare place that Once was!
