We visited the Percy Warner Park and Allee on a beautiful late summer day. We had been visiting downtown Nashville, and wanted to get out of the city for the day, and the Percy Warner Park was perfect! We walked for a few miles in the woods and up to one of the beautiful overlooks. The stairway of the Allee was so cool and beautiful to see! The only one single drawback is, there are no easy to get to public restrooms at the park. I think I saw on the signs that there were some restrooms over at the golf course, but that was pretty far away. There is a nice drinking fountain at the entrance to the park though, so you can refill water bottles. Altogether a beautiful park to visit, and I would certainly go back for more hiking. The people that live nearby, and can use that for their daily walk, are quite fortunate!

Trails here go deep within the woods but are heavily traveled so prepare for lots of walking (sometimes uphill) and passing other groups of people along the way. It's a great spot for some exercise and a little bit of respite with the forest, but no water. You can bring your dog, but you must keep him or her on the leash... There was a shooting only a couple weeks ago of a dog that was off leash here which frightened someone who was armed (while hiking 🤷) and that person shot the dog dead. Apparently Tennessee has a leash law throughout the entire state excluding only dog parks There's a large stairs upfront that gets you into the park trails and a fountain with dog-bowl attached for when you get back down and your dog is quenched.

LOVE this park! Plenty of parking, you can park in inside the Stone entrance, but I prefer the side parking lot off to the left of the front gates. I love the hills… & the staircase is great too. The architecture of all of the stonework, is gorgeous! There are so many birds that if you have a bird identification app, you’ll definitely have fun using it!! And I love seeing the same people walking every day. Makes Nashville a little bit smaller

My sister and I used to be driven to the top of the steps by our parents after church. We would get out of the car at the top, and as our parents would drive back down to the flagpole, my sister and I would run down those steps like crazy to see if we could beat the car. What fun that was back around 1939 and 1940s. Highlight of the weekend. And I have many other wonderful memories of the park, the riding stables, the golf course, the steeple chase, and every single road that I knew by heart, that I used to ride, twenty years or more ago on...
