A must do destination for any nature lover! This place is well run, maintained, and staffed. Amazing improvement from the way it was run 16 years ago during my last visit. New, passionate owners and staff make all the difference. I read reviews before going, and a common complaint was the price of a few things. But in reality, tell me honestly, where you can have another educational, fun, clean, and immersive experience like this with people who don't treat the place like running a parking lot carnival? They are off the beaten path for a reason. It costs to keep everything in top shape 365 days a year, with a staff devoted to that goal, with your family fun, education, and safety as a top priority. Especially with the economy the way it is. I took my 5 year old because he wanted to catch, hold, and kiss an alligator. As well as handle multiple snakes and a bearded dragon. He got to feed and experience everything beyond what he learned from watching Wild Kratts on TV and going to a much more expensive zoo closer to home that wasn't as clean. We will be making the drive to their other locations and back to this one...
Read moreYou can TELL this staff loves their jobs and the animals they help care for. I will admit I was anxious to see the park, we decided on a whim to visit. These animals are cared for and loved and I was more than happy to contribute to them! The people working are knowledgeable and caring. They took the time (past closing) to let my son hold a snake and a lizard. It’s not a given by any means but when I went to get my son a wristband to hold the baby alligators they gave it to us, there was no hint of trying to make themselves look good. They just wanted him to have a good time. We were attended to, we had the opportunity to ask all of the questions we had, especially being new residents to Louisiana it was very informative and special. We look forward to taking our families when they visit!! In particular the intern they have from North Dakota was so nice and he really didn’t mind taking the time to teach us about the animals both with the gator feeding and in private later with...
Read moreWhere do I begin reviewing this place....it's so amazing, it's hard to find the words! The park managers, Leo and Candace, talk to you like you are old friends. Josh and Sam wave to you and make sure you are having fun. Jake knows everything about EVERYTHING and will answer any questions you can think of. The feeding show is a must! You get to see Big Lou JUMP out of the water for his snack. Jake entertains you with his knowledge and jokes while the gators eat. The rest of the park is full of memories waiting to be made: feed the gators with a fishing pole, catch a baby gator in the wading pond, feed the giant tortoises, pet the goats, hold a snake, watch the raccoons play, and so much more. Please don't miss out on the amazing boat ride down the bayou, it's absolutely gorgeous and unforgettable. We will definitely be coming back here, HIGHLY recommend! Thank you Gator Country for giving my family a day we will...
