5 stars aren't possible, but this is a beautiful place to visit.

Let's get the negatives out of the way. The restrooms are filthy, and my wife told me the Ladies door doesn't latch. If the $20 annual pass isn't enough to cover the cost of getting the restrooms cleaned maybe up the fee to $25? The other complaint has to do with the narrow boardwalks and signs telling you to stay on the trail. Boardwalks tend to be in place because of fragile plants or wetlands. Problem with the boardwalk sections is they're quite narrow. So narrow that when you can you'll be stepping off to allow others to pass. Where that isn't possible you're likely going to do a version of the hokey pokey with the person you're passing, or you or the person you're passing is getting a cheap thrill.

Being a bit more active than most people my age (59) I didn't think the trail was too long or steep, especially because who's going fast anyway when the scenery is so good?

The positive. What a beautiful walk to the views. The trees are magnificent. Twisted/contorted cedar trees, massive Spruce, vibrant ferns, light filtering in from the skies, and it goes on.

Bring binoculars or a good zoom lens. You're a bit of a distance from birds, seals, etc. We hit it around 10am, the sunlight was already a challenge.

Can't wait to go back because it's truly the Puffins we...

Beautiful walk to the viewing area of the point and shoreline. Cape flattery is built up on the cliffs and makes for a majestic view. During a sunny day or sunset I'm sure it is absolutely breath taking. It was quite rainy and Foggy during our hike and walk but it still made for a beautiful view. I would highly reccomend a rain jacket and waterproof boots/hiking shoes. While the trail is easily walkable during dryer times, it turns into a muddy puddle filled trek when the rain is present. Half the people on the trail were ill prepared for the wet slog. I was very thankful I had my rain jacket and ankle high Extra Tuff boots. The trail is only about 3/4 mile down, and easily walkable, but some of the boardwalks are smaller, so you would need to stand on the side and wait for the next person to pass. It is not particularly steep, but it's definitely a little easier to walk down than up. I highly reccomend taking this walk! There is approximately 30-40 parking spaces in the parking lot area with maybe 3 or 4 RV spaces. Even in the rain, my wife and I had a great...

Visited in November and arrived around 4 PM. The area was quiet, with dump trucks parked nearby, likely due to renovations. We decided not to venture out on the trail because of the limited daylight and concerns about the possible dangers of walking the trails as it got darker. Has anyone explored the trail at that time of day?

Driving from Sequim, we noticed signs of storm damage, including fallen trees on cliffs, which made the mountain-hugging drive a bit unsettling. Sadly, we also passed large areas of cleared land, with stumps replacing once-tall trees—it was heartbreaking knowing it will take decades for them to grow back.

As we left and drove back, we noticed other cars still making the trip, likely heading to the viewpoint. The area has a rugged, serene beauty, and while we didn’t explore the trail, it’s clear this is a special place worth visiting. Hopefully, future development balances renovation with preserving its...

You must have a $20 annual Makah Tribal lands recreational pass to visit. When visiting over a busy summer weekend there's a checkpoint setup where you can purchase but at other times they are available in Neah Bay at a few local businesses. You cannot purchase online. Once at the parking lot it can be challenging to find parking on a busy weekend. While the view is incredible, it wasn't worth the hassle of all the crowds to see it. That being said, if you can visit during the week or off-season...you'll be in luck. The hike out takes about 20-30 minutes depending on your speed and congestion. The slim boardwalks in part make if difficult when it's busy as it's hard for two parties to pass. It can also be fairly strenuous, definitely not difficult for a normal person, but anyone with mobility issues should refrain.
