This was the worst experience!!! Today Is my son birthday and we came to go ape. I called in and asked the most questions before arriving. I have a 9 yr old and 14 today is his birthday! Thought this will be fun. They explained that at 2pm is the last time to come. What they failed to mention to me is at two there are no longer doing the stuff for younger children that are under 4’7. My 9 yr old is 4’4. Thank god i didn’t purchase any accessories over the phone. For us 3 it came out to be almost 200$. I bought the tickets over the phone in there parking lot to avoid paying an extra charge for paying inside. We arrived early so I could go inside to make sure everything was everything. There is nobody at the office it’s locked with a sign saying they will be back at 1:45 for the 2:00 check in. We were not able to talk to anyone in person before check in! At check in I was notified that my youngest did not make the required height and there was no longer any activity he could do. They offered a credit to come another day, I refused and asked for a refund. Which the assistant manager told me I couldn’t get my money back. I explained to her how much of a inconvenience this was, that I wasn’t told this prior to buying the tickets and it is my sons birthday which now I have to find something else to do, which I need my money for. I was only given a refund for my youngest son. But my son wanted to do it as a family and didn’t want his brother left out. So I just wanted my money back. I came a hour early wasn’t able to talk to nobody! Driven from Lincoln and had to pay to get inside of the park as well! The assistant manager Hailey did not take any ownership for the misinformation given over the phone, not having anyone in the office nor the fact that this is a major inconvenience on a special day. Saying she only can give me credits. Wouldn’t call the manager! This business is poorly ran, be cautious buying tickets on line. This company took my money and refused to right there wrongs. So now this is the start to my sons birthday, I...
Read moreThis was our first time at Go Ape at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park. We did the Treetop Journey. My kids are ages 6, 6 & 8.. they loved it!!! (My littlest is 44" and was the perfect height). My kids are super adventurous and this was right up their alley! They loved everything even down to wearing their climbing gloves (we bought these there for $10 a piece - now we will have these for future tree climbs). My daughter (6) was a bit scared of the height at first and needed encouragement, but after she did the first course she couldn't wait to go on the next and was so proud of herself. The zip line was not super long and only 25 ft up, so it was perfect and not too scary for little ones. My 8 year old is very tall for his age, but he had to duck for quite a few obstacles as they are designed to work for minimum height 39" - but he still loved it! Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it as well! Kids were already asking to go back the next day! I can't say enough amazing things about the staff/trainers... they were the best!! Very thorough and wonderful with the kids! It takes about 15 minutes to get checked in and do some quick training, so I would recommend arriving at least 15 mins ahead of your scheduled time. The 3 courses in the 'Treetop Journey' take about 1 hour to complete, depending on how quickly you maneuver through it. They offered water between courses and gave the kids stickers and certificates once they had finished all 3. We will most definitely be back!!! Also, so much to do at Mahoney... so they can explore, pet the horses, go on the playground, etc. before or after your Go Ape Adventure. We will also be excited to do the "Treetop Adventure" (min height 55") once the kids are all tall enough!...
Read moreI did this over the July 4th holiday with my two mid-30s sisters. I am petrified of heights but I felt safe up in the trees. The 2-3 hour course has six sites, which include multiple crossings in the trees and end with a zipline. It got a little toasty around site 5, because it was 100+ degrees outside, but we made it through. There's water on the course. They explain how to use the equipment on the first site, and then you're off and can move at your own pace, as long as you generally keep things moving along. The most difficult was the Ring Walk. I had a great time and got a great workout. By the time we were finished, we were all drenched in sweat. Kids under 13 may have a difficult time, but are allowed to go as long as each kid has an adult supervising him or her. Highly recommended. The staff is very nice and...
