Camp sites have trees..if ur tenting.. cabins are perfect and cheap.. and fish is soo fun with the boat with crappie non stop but we throw back less then 9” . Kayak and paddle board is very popular as lake gets smooth as ice at times.. nice no wake fast boats or jet skis.. love to take drive from omaha on a off day or wknd when we are not at our other lake . Perfect place to float and relax if you have a boat. Camping is fun in our new rv esp after getting off the lake!

Was in the area so explored the lake. Nice walking trail that connects both sides of the lake. Would of stayed longer but was a little chilly that day. They have cute cabins you can rent for the night and nice RV/camper spots.

Very nice parks, beautiful views and nice staff - what more could you ask for?! It’s a fairly new site so the trees need some time to grow, but they’ll get there!

This is not a state park. You need a park pass specifically for Lake Wanahoo to get in. The lady at the gate was very nice and helpful. She sold us our passes and waved us through every time we came or went. It's a nice campground with pretty views of the lake, but there were lots of ticks! (We visited in July) Every time we went outside we had a couple of ticks on our ankles or pant legs when we got back inside. Not much shade in the campground either. The dump station is on the opposite side of the lake from the campground and cannot be reached without getting back on the main highway. Normally, that would just be a minor inconvenience. However there is construction on the highway making it extremely difficult to get to getting to the road that takes you to the...

Brilliantly designed, and great location between Lincoln and Omaha BUT why no trees along highway 77, a four lane US highway? The tent sites are literally 500 feet from US 77. Our whole Cub Scout Pack had troubles sleeping due to road noise, and when we woke up it was a windy morning and our tent blew away by 9am and everyone left because it was too windy for the kids or adults to...
