Best museum ever. I've been to many many museums, especially in DC, and this one is hands down the best. There were so many hands on activities, things to see, videos to watch, and unique items. The staff was amazing too and gave us free tickets for the following day, because we didn't have enough time to see everything. Came in at about 3pm but there was still about 1.5 hours more to see after 5pm closing. Definitely plan accordingly. I thought it would be much smaller than it actually was.

Legacy of the Plains Museum has indoor and outdoor exhibits. There is an entry fee that carries over to the out buildings too. Outside are goats you can pet and longhorn cattle that sometimes come near the fence by the museum. The main exhibit indoors has some interactive exhibits for kids, but most are the typical look and listen exhibits. The new Japanese Hall is only open when additional staff are there, but when you do visit it you get a cool origami crane to take home for good luck.

Well worth the $10 price for admission. No crowds & and you can have “hands on” to many of the exhibits. The museum is well thought out and each exhibit carries through with a timeline & explanation of the displays. We really enjoyed the Japanese Hall that explained so much about the Japanese Internments during World War 2 and the Japanese/American men & women the helped us win the War. This is great to learn so we never forget the negatives & positive of that era.

Just south of Scottsbluff, in Gering, is a great education awaiting for those interested in early homesteading, farming and ranching. The Legacy of the Plains Museum exhibits a progressive history of how foods were produced through ever-increasing discoveries, improved knowledge of science and practical application of technology and inventive agricultural equipment. Many generations of America's farmers, ranchers, agronomists, engineers and capitalists all played the crucial roles in feeding this nation and today, they still produce enough food to feed our nation plus export about 50% of the harvest to other countries each year. The Legacy Museum is an unusual, but wonderful place to visit, covering the history of a whole field and industry we all usually take...

Great interactive museum suited for both kids and adults. $10 admission priced seems high but after experiencing the museum I would say the price is worth it. The ear buds provided didn't really seem necessary except for one of the places the rest mainly just provided music for the short video clips. Kids activities may have used the ear buds more. The video viewing rooms were a great touch such as hearing Indian history while standing in a teepee and gazing into the fire pit. Highly...

A true hidden gem in the area. Tons of fascinating local history on display in an impressive new facility. I imagine a lot of their traffic from visitors to nearby Scotts Bluff National Monument passing through, but I highly recommend locals that have not been to the museum (or have not been for several years) to make a point of visiting soon. The volunteers are always knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter and eager to share. A great way to spend an afternoon for both...
