One of our favorite museums on Route 66 because of the incredibly enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful volunteers. They were bursting with all kinds of information not only on Needles but on the entire region. They will be happy to take a photo of you with Spike (Snoopy's brother, who lived outside Needles). There's a great mural on the side of the building, which was once a Penney's. They can also arrange tours of the stunning El Garces Harvey House hotel across the street. Oh...and the museum is free--but please leave a donation to help these folks out!

I would thoroughly recommend this little museum, run by enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable volunteers there is a wealth of knowledge. Who knew Needles was the birthplace of 'Spike' Snoopy's brother? I would also recommend taking up the offer of the free tour of the Harvey Hotel. This is a must see and must experience opportunity, also donate to the museum funds, I want the Harvey Hotel to be an amazing place to come and visit in years to come!

Storefront museum with artifacts from needles, including railroad photos and vintage objects. Free admission donations accepted. A very knowledgeable and friendly volunteer. The museum closes at 2 pm. It's partially supported by the thrift store next door. It may be closed in the summer. There's a large statue of Spike, Snoopies brother. Charles Schultz lived in Needles as a boy and wrote about Spike in his comics.

I visited Needles Regional Museum, in Needles, California. The museum is located on Historic Route 66, off off Interstate 40.

This wall art is located on the west side of the building, in the parking lot area. The museum entrance is located on the north side of the building, the left door in the alcove.

Very knowledgeable staff! I learned quite a bit when I was there. I would like to stop another time, and tour the historic Harding (spelling?) Hotel, just north of the museum.

Definitely...

We went to get our picture taken with Spike and look at artifacts from the Harvey House. We left when the female proprietor engaged in a loud political discussion with another visitor. Unfortunately, they talked about innocent people deserving to die, talked trash about a respected political leader, and disparaged our government from their political viewpoint. It was extremely unprofessional and ruined our visit. Wished I could've pulled my donation back out of the jar. DO...
