A superior lake about 8 miles around circumference. Excellent for paddling because not a lot of boat traffic during the week. Weekends can get a bit crazy. The portage into the neighboring pond is 50 feet and well worth the effort. No Boats!! Water quality bis some of the best in new Hampshire. This place should be a five but for one major drawback ... Parking There is so little bad to make it all but unusable on weekends. No parking signs outnumber the birdlife. Signs of no trespassing and private property, keep out abound. Not the most friendly place I have ever paddled. Go mid-week or stay away.

I now live in California but I grew up in Hancock NH. I love this lake. The water is clear, the views amazing and it is perfect for swimming, boating, or kayaking..I have fond memories of playing on the water here water skiing and ice fishing. It's out of the way and there are no amenities but that's what keeps it pristine.

A beautiful spring fed lake tucked away deep in the hills of southern New Hampshire. The clear waters offer wonderful if not challenging fishing of rainbow, brown, and lake trout. Parking is limited due to the lake's location and only one public boat landing.
