Best local RV camping in east texas! Quiet, family friendly campsites! The grounds and facilities are always spotless and well kept. The front gate staff are amazing, helpful, and always friendly...especially Mrs. June! The family and I have been coming here for years after trying many other campsites. We've never had any issues with excessively loud music, belligerent drunks, or wreck less drivers speeding through. It's a great place for smaller kids to be able to run and play, without having to worry about cars, creeps, or aggressive pets. They also have a great little playground and tons of good lake front swimming areas. The demographics here are typically families with kids under 10 and older retired couples with the occasional grandkid. It's very laid back and filled with good people just enjoying the peacefulness of the lake. I highly recommend this place. If you're looking for a wild party, I definitely recommend looking elsewhere as you will probably...
Read moreThis is a beautiful lake, great views, nice woods. It being a COE park we didn't expect it to have such small sites. They're pretty level but close. We were in 101 at the top of the first loop. Electric and water hookups. With the place pretty full it was still quiet except for the leaf blowers Sunday afternoon. There were 2 rest room and shower facilities in the loop, at the base of the loop and the top. The one near us had 2 women's toilets and a single shower, which was right at the entrance to the room. The changing area had no door, 2 wall hooks and a wall bench of cement. If you stand in the doorway you can see into the changing area and a clear view of the shower door. No thanks. I'll take sponge baths in the RV. The other shower at the bottom of the loop did have a door to the changing area but it was too far to walk. The only other complaint is the group of 4 men on a golf cart, drinking beer who spent some time in the women's restroom....
Read morePark is nice; RV spaces nice, but the grass is over grown, bathrooms at Near E-101 is completely out of order the far end bathroom showers are buggy and dirty, one toilet barley works in the womens, my husband said the showers are name in Menâs and no toilets work in men in the hill. The only working clean decent bathroom is in the premium RV parking area! I know many donât like using their RV showers bc of space and some donât have showers in their campers, so a state park or RV park itâs essential to have proper working and clean bathrooms. This time of year, itâs not safe to have overgrown grass, walking with kids and pets. All camp sites need a mowing and weeded! Ant beds are like crazy on the camping areas⌠I feel this lake being so beautiful; the park managers or host could take better care of the area. I donât know for sure if there just a lack of help or these are...
