This was our second stop at this location in 2 weeks. I'm sorry to say that there was an enormous amount of trash is scattered all over the area. It could have just been scattered by all of the buzzards hanging around oh, but the place was still a mess. On the other hand the fishing was fantastic. My 12 year old son caught his first ever big mouth bass weighing in at 3 and 1/2 lb on our second trip my fourteen-year-old caught his first ever big mouth bass weighing in at 4.47 lb. My wife got one and 3.3 lb. A very relaxing day and the fishing was wonderful here at the spillway

Best lake experience in Northeast Texas. We lake hop all over, and this one leaves our boat the least dirty on the bottom....this is important. No goo. The trees that line the shore are majestic. Highly recommend being there for the gorgeous sunsets. Wish there were more walking trails, or bike trails. And more Marina accommodations with food offerings. For the beauty, cleanliness, fishing, and water sports....you can't beat it!

This is one heck of a lake! It has the beauty of the hill country and the trees of East Texas. A combination that’s hard to beat. We’ve stayed at Hidden Pines RV Park and you won’t find a better experience on the lake!

Lake 'O The Pines is mostly a catfish and bass lake. It does contain trash fish. Local bass tournaments are held every year by Skeeter Boats which is a boat company in Kilgore, Texas. It boasts of several public boat docks and recently has had problems with Salvinia. In experienced boaters and fishermen should avoid this lake since many end up hitting stumps and cap sizing. Also any inexperienced wind sale boaters should also avoid this lake since it does have some power lines over head but power companies have been working to fix this. It is part of the Texas Forestry and has several public parks. It also has picnic areas, swimming areas, and public restrooms. Be on the look out for black widow and brown recluses in the public restrooms as I spotted at least one black widow on my visit a few summers ago.. It has some areas for musicians to play music. It also has R.V. parking and hook-ups. There is a teach your kid how to fish day too. You may want to bring your camera if you like taking pictures of local birds. There are deer leases around the area. I do recommend sticking deer whistles on your vehicle before visiting. It is also recommended to check the tree line for shallow rooted trees before pitching a tent in the area. I also recommend taking a snake bite kit with you and dawning deet to avoid being bit by mosquitoes, benadryl, and 45...

Tried to go to Lakeside Park saturday (04-07) and didn't realize the entire left side of the park was closed. I paid $5 entrance fee (which is advertised as being $4). After leaving the attendant's booth, I saw the entire left side of the park was closed. The attendant never mentioned this. He refused to refund my $5 and told me I could walk. I paid $5 to drive in a circle around the attendant's booth. Several emails have been sent and I am still unable to get...
