STATELINE BLUEBERRIES — Attraction in New Buffalo Township

Today was my first and last time I visited your farm. After picking the blueberries I have noticed one of the employees is carrying a gun. When bringing it up to a nice lady at the cash register about it she said we are in an open carry state and guns are allowed, which I totally agree with, as it is your constitutional right. What I don’t agree with is guns being around kids and you setting a right example for everybody else. You mentioned that you have cash around and if you fear for your safety keep one out of everyone’s view by the cash register not out in the open where there is families and kids around. Because as a customer, I don’t feel safe. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Next time, I will take my money somewhere else and I hope everyone else who agrees that blueberries don’t need gun protection will take their money to some other dozens blueberries...

I was very disappointed that farm owners already picked up the big berries early in the morning and let the farm open for regular public to pick up the smaller berries. There were no big berries at all on any of the tall bushes. I heard a lot of people were talking also that they were very disappointed there was no big berries to pick. My kids were so disappointed it took us so long time to fill in a half bucket with a small tiny berries. This was our 2nd visit in 5 years. I was very very very disappointed never going to visit this place ever again.

Reply: it's not what made me think. It was pretty apparent from the yellow or whatever color crate it was that the bigger blueberries were pre-picked and you were selling those in addition...

We have been coming to Stateline Blueberries for years and they never disappoint. Every year, they have beautiful, tall bushes full of delicious blueberries. The farmers who work there are amazing. They always know where the best places to pick are. They are very friendly, warm, and welcoming people in general who care profoundly about their farm and it shows in the customer service.
