Overpriced and overall disappointing. The only size available for u-pick is $40 for a peck. What if I don't want a whole peck? Too bad. Gotta pay the $40 if you want any. All the "good" peaches were pre-picked, which left all small ones in the field, they even told us that, seemingly to discouraged us from picking our own (which is the whole point of going to a u-pick farm). She actually said "I went out and picked all of the good ones this morning, so you're only going to find small ones". I'm not sure why they'd do that at a u-pick farm, leaving nothing "good" for the patrons to pick? None of the fields are mowed, so we were climbing through 2 foot tall weeds. (They could let some of the animals they have caged up out to eat some of the grass... the poor things in area with mowed, or maybe eaten down, grass... they were trying to reach through the fence to get some tall grass to eat. The sheep was not sheared and was very dirty and probably uncomfortable sitting in the sun with a full body of wool).
You have to pay before you even go out to see what the fields are like. The lady at checkout was rude and acted like we should automatically know their rules or procedures. Sorry, we are not mind readers, nor are we local to know individual farm's rules (you can't use your own containers because "it's 'just easier' for them to use their containers", which I understand, that's how they choose to control their price, rather than by the pound, but why have an attitude about it?...) we drove over 2 hours to get there, so it would have been nice to be greeted by a friendly face.
Barely any of the types of apples were marked to know what they were. I only saw 1 sign. I'm not sure if there were different types of peaches, no one told us and there wasn't a map or anything. They don't seem to pick to keep their trees healthy, there were lots of scraggly trees (think Charlie Browns Christmas tree) and trees with broken limbs. Most of the peaches didn't have much flavor. Not like what you'd think "Michigan Peaches" would taste like. Won't be back to this farm in the future.
I gave 3 stars because they did have peaches and apples to pick, and a...
Read moreSuch a gem! We took our "summer camp" for a tour and apple picking at Williams Orchard. Since all summer camps/activities were canceled due to Covid, we hosted a summer camp for the kids in our family. Farmer Jon was happy to have us and show us around the farm as one of our camp activities. In fact he was so happy to have us that the first thing he said to me was "I just want the kids to have a great time while they're here!" Our trip to the farm included feeding the donkeys and goats, a wagon ride with stops to inform us about the farm, and apple picking. The kids said, "this was the best time, we LOVED everything!!". Thank You Farmer Jon & staff for a GREAT time! We will be back, that...
Read moreThe apple cider is delicious ($2/cup) Country feel, beautiful views, petting animal zoo and you get free feed to give them! We took amazing pictures, truly a lovely experience. $20 small bag for apples or $30 large bag. Honestly, the $20 bag was worth it and we got over 40+ apples and shared with the entire family! They also have a kids play ground, porta potties, they sell honey $9 which is delicious. Unfortunately the wagon/hay ride is not going on because of COVID. The...
