An isolated spot off a rugged dirt road. Warning the road requires a truck or true SU V for clearance. We came from the south as that road was supposedly better. Trail is not well developed but stay on the ridge and you will be fine. Beautiful 210 degree view...

Road can be rocky and some mud pitts. The trail is like 20 min hike and it's not some fancy path, it very raw forest. The view is real nice. Don't keep going up the road after the hike unless you got 4x4...

Amazing view! Short hike, mostly flat. If you have a car or low vehicle go in from the top of 311. Going in or out the side where the jeep trail is is a lot of fun with several...

This .9 mile out and back trail near Paint Bank, Virginia in Shawvers Run Wilderness is truly a hidden gem. The trail is kid friendly and dog friendly and boasts some of the best views we’ve seen yet. I do recommend pants for the kids because there are a lot of briars along the way. The road to the trail is a dirt road for about 3 miles and can be rocky so a need for a decent clearance on a vehicle may be needed. Be prepared to be the only people on the trail and enjoy! 🍁🍁🍁🍁
