Sabbathday Lake offers an authentic look into the last active Shaker community in the world. The Shakers are a fascinating denomination. There is lots to be learned about the Shaker way of life and history here. We took the tour and our guide Don was informative and friendly. It was great to see some of the actual work and living spaces that The Shakers once used. I was blown away by the blue paint used in the meeting house. Without the walking tour not allowed to even walk down the street. Don't know about the walking tour but the museum was NOT worth the money...
