Gorgeous! We love the chickens and enjoy the flowering trees, perennials and bulbs throughout the Spring. Unfortunately, despite the policy to keep dogs leashed, people let their dogs run around off-leash like it is a dog park (there is a dog park down the street!). The last time I was there (several weeks ago), I was looking for a place to set up a picnic blanket for my family, and I came across dog feces that had not been picked up by their owners in several places. I shouldn't have to worry about stepping in dog feces in a beautiful park like this. Very disappointing.

I love running to Edgerton park. I love it in the spring and summer with all of the flowers. In the summer during June, they have the most beautiful blue hydrangeas. It is my favorite shade of blue. I also love to communal garden during early September. They have beautiful flowers in bloom then, such as the dahlias. You might also find some monarchs and bees around the flowers. Check out the greenhouses. And, don’t forget to say hi the chickens! :)

We love coming here. It’s quiet and peaceful during the week and very lively in the weekends. Just last Saturday and Sunday there were wedding, birthday parties, picnics and classes being held in the open field. There is garden plot for rent. It’s enjoyable to see all kinds of flowers and vegetables being grown in each plot. We always look for the garden cat, Simba who lives here. Bring some cat treat with you and he might show up!

I'm a family photographer and I just LOVE Edgerton Park for family photos. There are so many beautiful spots within the park and even on beautiful weekend days you can find locations that aren't crowded, especially if you know some lovely little places off the paved path, so to speak! Highly recommend this gorgeous place just on the border of New Haven and Hamden. A real treasure for those of us local to it.

I LOVE this park. The greenhouse & especially the conservatory are phenomenal. The park is extremely clean & well maintained. It's the perfect place to read, picnic stroll or jog. I always encounter the friendliest people & so many dogs! It's also just big enough that privacy can be accomplished. There isn't a playground but wide enough spaces for children to run around or picnic. Such a beautiful spot.

A beautiful and secluded park that is much bigger than it looks like from the streets (where you can’t see much behind the walls). It has pretty fountains and manicured lawns, but it also has lots of wild and free nature too. On the northwest corner there are chickens, which are fun to see. In the other corner there is a beautiful garden and greenhouse.
